Elections
Elections drive me nuts. All the mud slinging all the he's better than he is bla bla bla. Each person has his good qualities as well as some questionable ones. But I really get annoyed when one says well this guy did this in his commercial and within a half an hour we have that guy saying almost the same about the other guy. SO what does that mean? That they are actually both guilty of the same thing? And the thing that bugs me the most?...........My name is.............and I approve this ad. OMG of course your going to approve it. Weather its good for you or not(mainly good cause why would they put something bad about themselves on air?)I know there is another reason they say it they say it just so they let you know that they know whats being said about them. And like I said why would they put something bad about them selves on air? But don't ask me why but it just bugs me. I guess its all this stuff that they all do just to try to get votes. Now I'll admit I wasn't going to register to even vote this year but after reading some of the reports and getting some emails from friends I think I should go and actually vote this year. After all its our right and we women fought to vote so why should I not? I'm really glad they only happen every 4 years. But let me tell you something no matter who we vote for some one some where will say why in the heck did I vote for him? Because usually some time down the line the person elected will do something that will have the whole country talking about. and its not usually good!

Questions but no answers
So as I sat yesterday watching the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon, I thought to my self wow he's been doing these telethons for a long time and he's getting old. I wonder who if any one will take over the telethon for him when he passes. Or will Jerry's kids be forgotten. With all the money he has raised for Jerry's kids its amazes me there isn't a cure found already. After all, these telethons have been going since I was a kid.
I love watching Jerry doing his thing for his kids and when I can donate, I do. But it scares me that the fact these have been going on for years and they still haven't found the answer and he wont be here forever. What will happen to those kids who mean so much to Jerry?
Then I put that aside and went to the fair.
Now that was a fun thing ........(not!!!) Weather was 90+ yesterday there was some cool breeze every now and again.
We were invite as guest of our youngest sons girlfriend who said she was paying for everything.
Well that was partly true. Another friend of our sons also went and he paid for some stuff.
And then at one point we had to pay (with money we didn't have!)
But all in all it was a fun day. We took 3 of our daughters boys with us. youngest son had his 3 boys. So it was a good day. I took precautions so not to get burned but I still came home with some very red spots(that I forgot to cover with lotion).
I think Mr Gab and I had sunstroke or at least heat stroke! We came home collapsed and basically went to sleep. By 8 pm I got up told the 2 boys who live with us to go to bed then told Mr Gab let' s go to bed. By 8 20pm we were out! All of us. which was good because the boys had school today. I also Had to have a friend drive us over to school for J's orientation of Kindergarten, which he starts tomorrow. And Little Lj comes home from daddys tonight so grandma will have him tomorrow. I wont quite be alone once the 3 boys go to school. But thats ok. I can deal with it!

Whose Butt is that?

My grandson happened to look out the window and see the white squirrel's butt sticking out of our tree. So I told him grab the camera and take a picture. He took this and its a very good one! (click on it to see it better)The hole was started by our oldest son cutting it off but not sealing it. Next thing you know we have woodpeckers pecking away at it. Soon we had squirrels in it. I thought they might be using it for their nest but when Mr Gab checked it was still just an empty hole. But right above him high in the branches he saw their nest! I'm still trying to get a picture of the all black squirrel.

Friday Laugh
A man and a woman were asleep like two innocent babies.
Suddenly, at 3 o'clock in the morning, a loud noise came from outside.
The woman, sort of bewildered, jumped up from the bed and yelled at the man "Holy CRAP, That must be my husband!"
So the guy quickly jumped out of the bed, scared and naked he jumped out the window like a crazy man.
He smashed himself on the ground, ran through a thorn bush and then started to run as fast as he could to his car.
A few minutes later he returned and went up to the bedroom and screamed at the woman, "I AM your husband.!"
The woman yelled back, "Yeah, then why were you running?"
And that folks............is how the fight started.

My pain.
Wow what a big cat! lolThis is Pumpkin holding watch over me. When Puff was alive both cats would sit either under my chair and sleep or up on my bed, where they could keep an eye on me. Now pumpkin has to get right up there on my desk and yes in my way sometimes. As you can see he's laying in front of my scanner and my screen. In fact it looks as if he may even be laying on top of the key board. That is nothing new. Many times I'll be doing some thing and all of a sudden zzzzzzzzzzssssssssssssssssaaaaaaaaaaa go across my screen. I then have to move his butt or the keyboard. It is more easier to move the keyboard than him!!!!! I find myself reaching over every so often to give him a pet.

Public Service Announcement
I know that if I heard something that I thought might help others out I would be sure to blog about it. But what if you heard something that you just were not sure about? What if it sounded like a crock? Do you still blog about it?
Well to answer my own questions,Yes I will blog about it and you tell me if its a crock or just give me your opinion.
Yesterday Mr Gab and I were watching some TV. Not even sure what channel we were on but what we heard shocked us.
It was a Doctor telling us some of the things that could cause Alzheimer's.
One of the things was if you went to the beauty parlor and got your hair done.(they said every week or bi-weekly)
another was if you got your nails done on a regular bases(recommended by salons are every two weeks)
Well now that caught my attention as I get my nails done (not as often as they say I sometimes go 4 weeks before I get them done again due to money).
So now what do I think? Well I do believe that going into nail salons the smell is very strong especially if they are quite a few people getting their nails done all at the same time. If there is only one or two people its not so bad. But the smell is awful. Could the chemicals they use play a part in you getting Alzheimer's?
This Doctor went on to talk about other hazards but at the same time he was "hocking" his book. So is it possible that going to get your hair or nails done that you could be endangering yourself to an early on set of Alzheimer's? Well I'm just not sure. But why take a chance? And as for telling all my blogger friends well lets just say I'm doing my part in a public service announcement just in case there is any truth in it.

Come on your kidding me right?
So you all know that Ive been separating all my money lately, and Ive got one jar that Ive labeled "funny money" money that's from other countries.
Well.....the other day I had to take some money to the bank. So I counted enough change to make $100. with the bills I had so that I could just make it even.
I went to the bank and told them I needed to deposit some money into my account and that I was sorry but I needed to use some change to make it an even $100.
Lady said to me no problem. She went into the other room and dropped the change into a machine to count it out and came back, and then handed me my receipt, and 2 nickles.
I said I need those nickles added in to make $100. and she says I'm sorry we don't take Canadian money.
You what I asked her?
We don't take Canadian money.
If you a bank don't take Canadian money who does? I asked
Oh she says just use it when you buy groceries, they have to take it.
Well my grandson just happened to have a dime so I had her add that to my account to make that even $100.
Then I went into the store and bought some little items that I knew with what cash I had plus the 2 Canadian nickles I would be able to pay for it.
BUT...........................I get to the counter and hand the lady the money and she says "I'm sorry we don't take Canadian money.
I laughed my butt off and said but the bank told me you did.
She tells me sorry no do I have any other nickles?
I tell her no and I'm sorry but I don't want the groceries I had. and I walked out.
My grandson asked me "grandma what are you suppose to do if the store wont take them either?"
Good question I tell him.
I stopped at McDonald's to get a drink for the two of us cause we were hot and the total came to $3.10. Hot dog I thought I'm getting rid of those Canadian nickles.
But you guessed it. I handed her the money and she tells me I'm sorry we don't take Canadian money.
I told her she was going to have to keep the drinks as I didn't have enough money.
So I added them to my "funny money" jar. Maybe some day I'll get to Canada and be able to use all my "Canadian funny money!"
Hope your week is going well!

HEY.......NOT YET!!!!!!
When I go to the drugstore I usually go through the drive through to get my pills. But yesterday I decieded to park and go in.
After getting said pills I did a little walk around. I went straight to the seasonal isle.
But heyyyyyyyy wait.........................................
back up here. Yes there are some swimming stuff. Yes there is still chalk for drawing on sidewalks, but where are the windchimes? WHAT????????????
NO CHIMES? at all? so we walked the whole store and no windchimes! any wheres!
Now wait just a minute. Isnt this only July? And isnt July still considered summer? But in the place of windchimes were.......................BACKPACKS! This of course made my grandkids unhappy. Well only one really, the oldest cant wait to get back to school.
But Im not done with summer yet. After all we had so much of that cold weather back in June that it was hard to think summer had started with out me. Dang it! lol Have a good week!

some wedding humor!
Bill and his fiancee Mary met with the minister of the church to discuss their marriage vows. "Pastor," said Mary, "we wonder if we could make a change in the wording of our ceremony." "Yes, Mary," replied the pastor, "it is sometimes done. What do you have in mind?"
"Well," said Mary, "we'd like to alter the 'until death do us part' section to read,
'Substantial penalty for early withdrawal.' "
"Well," said Mary, "we'd like to alter the 'until death do us part' section to read,
'Substantial penalty for early withdrawal.' "
Tis the day
Why is it when you do something every day that one day when you actually look at what your doing you all of a sudden freak out?
In the morning I get up feed my cat and then go to the bathroom. I then brush my hair and wash my face.
But wait a min......who's that in the mirror? That person has more grey hair than I do. And many more wrinkles.
She looks more like ..............OH MY GOD she looks more like my mom or grandma than me. Oooh no I'm turning into an old person!
Ah yes the days are a coming. I have to go to the bathroom more often. I creak when I stand up. Never mind the fact that my back was hurt 12 or so years ago it hurts to stand up straight. My hands are some wrinkled old persons hands. When did I get so old? In my heart I don't feel old. I feel just like I did at 20, Young and carefree. Well maybe not carefree but young at least.
I could use a face lift but heck I don't like surgery so I guess I gotta get used to this one. After all Ive had a double chin since I was 5 (family trait) so what if I added another chin? lol
And if I'm really worried about grey hair there is a thing called (dying it). What was that commerical when I was younger? Only her hairdresser knows for sure!
Ahh the good ole days where have they gone? As I watch my grandchildren struggle in this new world of technology, (hey they actually get it better than I do!) I often wonder what new stuff they will get in their future. and will they too at some time in their lifes say "oh god I remember when my grandma had one of those things"! I can already say that about my own parents for crying out loud. My mom had a wringer washer when I was little. I think it was about 6 months after my sister D ( she's the handicapped one)was born that my mom finally complained to my dad that we needed a dryer because D was a handful and mom just didnt have the time to wash with a wringer then go hang them outside. So dad said well if we are getting a dryer we might as well get a washer too. Thats how we got both. ( fooled ya there for a min didnt I? I was talking about washer then jumped to dryer and back to washer)But that was the way my mom got dad to buy both. She figured that if she complained of the washer he wouldnt do anything. But because he knew how much work it was for mom to carry the clothes outside to hang up and all the attention D needed that he'd be more willing to get a dryer, instead we got both. Then a month after we got them D went into the hospital and was there for the next 4 years. In fact D came home the same day as mom brought our new baby sister C home from the hospital. Now that was a day. Mom wsa showing D her new baby sister, when D hauled off and hit her in the head! (I guess she wanted all the attention) Mom handed baby C to me to calm down while she talked to D about you gotta be nice to the baby and not hurt her. Ah the memories. I hope someday my grandkids will sit back and say ahh the memories we had with grandma and grandpa.

A Little Humor a Little Truth!
Things to Think About!
I'm not aging, I just need re-potting.
Lord, if I can't be skinny, let all my friends be fat.
My idea of cleaning the house is sweeping the floor with a glance.
This isn't clutter; these are my antiques!
Discover wildlife! Have kids!
Our policy is to always blame the computer.
Your secrets are safe with me and all my friends.
Mom, I'll always love you, but I'll never forgive you
for cleaning my face with spit on a hanky.
This house is protected by killer dust bunnies.
Every time I get the urge to exercise, I lie down till
the feeling passes.

What are you interested in?
Many of you know I sell on E-bay. I sell what I call piddly stuff from around the house. Some of the stuff is brand new.....I got from someone who either forgot I'm allergic to fragrances or I got two of same item. Other stuff is stuff I love but need to downsize if I'm ever gonna move to FL!
But my weakness is going to this E-bay Page:
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZronstoystuffQQhtZ-1
(ok Ive tried to use the link thingy at top of page to get the link to work but not working so please cut and paste)
This is my brothers E-bay page. And this guy knows his antiques! (he better he's been in the business for years . Even had his own shop)
But then his smart little sister said "hey why don't you sell on E-Bay?" Well first he didn't have a computer. SO Mr Gab built him one. Then we took it to him. Then he said I don't know how to use a computer. So I taught him. And I showed him how to get on E-bay.
So my brother started on E-bay And soon he took all of his stuff outta his store(he shared it with another guy who may have been helping himself to my brothers profits)
And now my brother is selling full time on E-bay. He's been at this about 8 years now and he says he has made more money on E-bay than he ever did in his store.(again he might have made more but who knows for sure)
And of course is little sister has given him a lot of her money!(just keeping it in the family) And no I don't resell what I buy from my brother! But E-bay can be costly if you buy to much stuff. But it sure is great when you get a really good deal. And if your looking for antiques My brothers page is one of the good ones to go to.

checking in
Well I've been very busy. But let me see if I can catch you up ......
As you know Friday was my birthday. I got up and did NOTHING! Then later in the afternoon we got ready and drove into MPLS to the Metro dome, to watch the MN Twins. This was my birthday present from my oldest grandson. After the game we started for home when everyone said"I'm hungry!" So we drove over to IHOP and went in. Now there is a guy who works there and he knows us all very well and he also knows when its my birthday. SO I said to the Hostess " Please don't sit us in So and So's area or we will get up and walk out!" (wasn't sure what she was thinking at that point.)
We sit down and our waitress seems overly friendly and happy. She was treating us like she knew a secret and we didn't. As our meal progressed I caught on that he told her it was my birthday, so I said" what ever he had told you its a lie." And she like about what. And I say about today. And she's like Its Independence day. And I'm like Ya I know he told you something and its a lie. And right then and there my 9 yr old grandson goes It her birthday! I'm like MAN!
So you guessed it they got the ice cream and came and sang to me. Well then the guy I didn't want to sit in section comes over and tells me that the Hostess at the door who sat us is his X wife! And she came right over and told him what I said about not wanting to sit in his section. (you also have to know this guy is also one of our daughter's x b/f)
Now ain't that a kick in the rear? The hostess is his ex wife! I couldn't win if I wanted to. I told him that's why I didn't want to sit in his section because he knew what day it was and I didn't want the fuss. But I got it anyways!
Other than that these last few days we have been trying to catch up on all the laundry. Remember that I was not taking blankets, sheets and quilts to the laundry mat? Well some how that stuff mulitplied! So far to date we've done 15 loads of clothes and still have 4 left to do!!!!!
Hope your week is going well.

Happy belated birthday to Crabby
glitter-graphics.com
Well I missed it......Another blogger friend had a birthday today. (July 3rd).
I was sooooo busy sleeping most of today away, that I forgot to get on here.
So anyways Happy Birthday to Crabby.
And yes its here its official.....................................................IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! Yes that's right 4th of July!
I came in with a bang!
Now let me say this one small thing. I love the fourth of July just live every one else does. Not only cause its my birthday but all the other things we celebrate our country for.
But here's the thing.........................................I'M GETTING SICK OF THE FIREWORKS HERE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!
Nothing like going off to sleep to have some wise guy light fireworks somewhere close by that makes the whole house shake. I swear I jump every time. And I swear that they are lighting them right next to my bedroom window. And I worry about a miss directed something or other landing on our house or garage and starting a fire. Now mind you I know this stuff can happen.
I remember the year Mr Gab and I hadn't been married long and we went with my parents out to SD to our farm. My dad always bought loads of fireworks to shoot off. Well this year Mr Gab was helping my dad. And what do you think happened? Yep that's right one fell over and literally followed Mr Gab almost hitting him in the head/back. I yelled duck and he finally dived to the ground as the rocket flew over his head just inches away. When he got back to the car he showed us his shirt where there were little tiny holes every where from the sparks hit. That's how close it had come to him. I didn't want him to go back out there but he did. For some reason I never worried about my dad like I did Mr Gab. Maybe because dad had been lighting off fireworks since I was a baby and I just didn't worry because he seemed more experienced at it. I don't know but that was one scary birthday for me.
So Every one please be safe not only on the roads but if your out watching fireworks don't get too close and if your lighting some off be careful.
HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!

My Nephew C's birthday is the day after mine (July 5th) It is so cool to have birthdays so close together like that. (But C watch out you know auntie Gab will probably embarrass you!)
