Help a friend please?

One of my high school girlfriends has written a book. She also has a web page that you can visit.

go to www.creativebonnie.webs.com

If you have ever been abused by a family member or you know someone who has been then you might want to buy them her book. It is truthful (I know first hand) and its painful. It even may help you heal (or the one who you give it too)

She not only wrote this book but did the illustration of the cover. She is multi-talented.

So please take a look. Its on Amazon in book section. Search time for refelctions and healing.

You can also find it at Barns and Noble. Go check it out.

What the HELL is wrong with F*****people?

Ok, Now I'm seriously pissed! Most of you all know that I hurt my back several years ago due to my sister not having her braces on. Then it got aggravated from the car accident last Oct. The first time I injured it the Doctor told me not to lift anything more than 1 lb! So now you have a little information to help you understand why I'm so pissed!!!

Today, I had a Doctors appointment. You know Physical therapy?
Well I'm getting out of my car and I notice this lady running across the parking lot. Not giving it much thought I locked my car and started in. Only to realise that the lady who had been running was now sitting on the steps of the building crying. I ask her if she's ok. She tells me no she thinks she dislocated her shoulder. I ask if I should call 911. She says no she just wants to get into the building where she works. I say ok can you get up? She says maybe if you help me.
So I tried to help her up by grabbing her under her left arm. Mean while I happen to notice that there are about 3 or 4 people standing there in the doorway of the building just watching. After the third try of trying to get up her all the while she is crying and screaming in pain, another lady comes out to help me get her up.
As soon as she was standing the other lady disappeared. (WHAT?) So I slowly walk her to the door and grab the handle and open the door (and everyone is just standing there) I got her into the building. I starting walking her towards the bank of elevators, and a lady comes running out and asks the lady I was helping in what happened. She told her and the other lady helped me get her into the office where they both work.
I then go upstairs to my appointment only to realise that I can hardly move. SO I tell my Doc and he sets me up with the roller machine, which really hurt. I then had the electrodes on my back then I went for an adjustment and he also used a electric massage thingy which helped until he hit the lower part of my back. I was able to get up and walk somewhat better than when I first walked in but oooohhhhhh does it hurt!!!!!!

After getting done I checked the time and seen that I had a little extra before having to get home so Mr Gab can go to work, I stopped down to the office where I took the lady. I walked in and inquired how she was doing. They told me that she ended up going to the hospital. So I said please tell her I hope shes ok soon. They asked who I was and I said the one who walked her in and gave them my name. They said thanks for helping her.

BUT PLEASE TELL ME......WHY? Why no one wanted to help? Not even to open doors.
Mr Gab told me because they didn't want to get hurt either. I'm like that is just so wrong though but yet I can understand. Thing is I just couldn't not help! Even if my back was perfectly A-OK I would still stop and help. It's just the way I am.

So I really hope she's ok, and I'm glad I helped even though it hurt me, because honestly I don't think anyone else would have and who knows how long she would have sat there hadn't I helped.

Ever want to know all about your birthdate?

I was sent an email from a friend that I actually found interesting. You click on the link below then enter your month day and year. It gives you all kinds of information of the day you were born. It will also tell you others born on that date as well as what songs were out that year.
I was really surprised. Try it out.

I finally figured it all out now give me the money!

I DID IT! I figured it all out. It's not about the people who come to try out for American Idol! It the drama of the judges! OMG. I swear... no wait I wont swear, but believe me Ive thought of it. So we get a few nuts on there that really and truly should not have opened their mouths. And then we go to.........the judges. Now Barman has put it clearly in a comment in my last blog and I quote" An if Paula is still a judge, do you really think she is a "professional"? She has more comments about what they look like or other truly worthless stuff then anything that is important. That and Randi, I love the man, dog, but I really do not listen to much to what he says either. The only person I think you really get anything of use from is Simon. He may be mean a lot but you best pay attention to what he is saying. I know this time they are suppose to have a 4th judge but having not watched the show I have no idea what she is like."
Barman hon you hit the nail truly on the head! Simon even though he is tough he seems to be the only one to keep the stuff real. The girls last night and tonight just had so much "drama" that it was all about them and not the singers. To be honest I cant believe that any one of the 4 judges would laugh at some one while they were singing. COME ON please be a little nice to these fools I mean folks, they are trying their hardest to sing. Its not their fault that they have no clue that they shouldn't be here in front of millions of people making an ass of them self's.
Now lets explore another item that happened tonight. Guy got done singing they all said no and he started to walk out he he tells them to be careful. They took that as a threat. Should they have taken it as a threat? Or should they have thought wow this guy is concerned for our safety that we don't fall down some steps or to be a little careful out there driving? I myself understood they guy saying be careful for what it was meant to be...or at least what I hope he meant it to be. I guess because after having my car accident and knowing that it can happen to anyone at any time that I too find my self saying be careful. I was one of these people who always figured I was not going to be in a car accident. After all I went my whole childhood without being in a car accident and most of my adult life without being in a car accident, then one day bam some one runs a red light and there I am getting hit. Ok now I may have miss lead you a tad. Because I was in a car accident before when a young kid fell asleep at the wheel and hit me. But no one was hurt in that accident. My accident in Oct we were hurt. And again it wasn't my fault. But the point I guess I'm making is that even though I was involved in that other accident it wasn't one where someone was hurt so I discounted it as an accident. My version of what accident is is when you crash and people are hurt. and yeah I know that's really wrong. Because when you are in a car accident where your car is damaged then you have been in an accident whether your fault or not. I got a letter in the mail the other day.... the city is going to court to charge the lady who ran the red light on Feb 2nd. I'm going to be there.
Well this week has warmed up considerably since last week but they said this is just temporary and we will be freezing again in a day or two. :-(
any who how hope your week is going well.

American Idol-Busy-Games-Cold

Have you gone shopping with me yet? Have you just looked? Please do so. I'm not asking you to buy but should you see something that you would like go ahead and make that purchase.

So I've been really busy these last few days. I've been busy playing on pogo, Ive been busy playing on Facebook, babysitting the boys and trying to stay warm.

Today is the 4th straight day we've had below zero temps. and today the kids didn't have school. It was and wasn't because of the weather. Stumped? Well let me explain. The buses that take the kids to school have bio-diesel fuel. This fuel isn't suppose to freeze but with our weather as cold as it has been it didn't exactly freeze but it did gel where it then breaks away and sinks to the bottom of fuel tanks and clogs the lines. Yesterday when it was around -15 some of the buses broke down leaving kids out in the freezing cold. Two of my grandkids were on one such bus. I myself thought that I should have kept the kids home yesterday but in the end they went. One reason is The oldest grandson got a ride from his mom to school then I went and picked him up after school. The second oldest I drove to the bus stop. Then the kindergartner, the bus stops in front of my house so he just goes from our front door out to bus. Again I drive down to bus stop after school and pick them up. But in between when others are being dropped off anything can happen such as a bus breaking down. The boys said they huddled under a tree and waited about 3-5 minutes for a replacement bus. They said they didn't get to cold waiting but I think they just didn't want to admit it as they had pretty red cheeks.
And the baby (he's almost two but to me he's still my baby lol), He had a terrible cold so I had to ask daughter to take him in and he ended up having pneumonia, poor little guy. He's with daddy this weekend so I just have 3 boys which was good for today with them all home from school. There is no school Monday of course and then I will have all 4.

This week American Idol started again and I was right there watching it. Again I can not believe that there are folks who dress like well gosh idiots! I was thinking morons but didn't want to go there. And those who really cant sing a note and was told no but they kept trying to get the judges to change their minds please oh please get a life. The one guy who sticks the most in my mind was the guy who said he mom didn't support him and she didn't believe that he was a good singer and when he came out he cried! WHAT? Are you kidding me? If my mom said to me don't go you cant sing worth a dang, and I went anyways and the judges told me NO and I just stood there and kept singing like that was going to change their minds I just wouldn't go out and stand in front of the cameras for all of America to see and cry! And the lady who sounded like she was threatening the judges oooh wee look out! I'm waiting for the news to say she tried to harm one of the judges because she didn't get picked. Again these people are professionals and know if you can carry a tune or even have a chance to work with a voice coach and possibly end up being our next idol. But please if they say no just say thank you and walk away. Don't swear, don't cry, don't threaten. Keep you dignity and leave.

Ok I'm climbing down off my soap box!
Hope your all keeping warm. They say that by Monday we will be up into the 30's and will be there a couple of days and we will have some of this snow melting. I will believe it when I see it!

Welcome to 2009!

Well we are already 8 days into 2009 and so far so good. I've been a little busy here just trying to do every day things and then.... wellllll lets see remember back when I said I was seeing red?
Well that person has annoyed me so much that the red seems to be part of me now. I spoke with my sister C and it made her almost as mad as it had made me.
The thing of it is this:
This person hasn't been in our lives for many years. Then through some ways and means they all of a sudden have a desire of how to run my life and or tell me what I'm doing wrong. Many of you know that Mr Gab and I have had our house in foreclosure a couple of times this past year. And as you may or may not know we are sorta still there. Now honestly it would take a whole lotta time to try and explain it to you as to what sorta means and I want to get this posted yet today.
Any way this family member seems to think that if I didn't go shopping at costly places such as Macy's and Daytons(back when there was a Daytons) that I would have money. Also if I hadn't given all my kids everything they ever asked for I would have money. And if I didn't eat at fancy restaurants all the time I'd have money. And if I would have slept in cheaper hotels/motels I'd have money.
Do you get the picture? Ok so now let me tell you a little secret! This family member is the one who goes to the most expensive stores they would never dream of shopping K-mart Target or even Wal-Mart or even a thrift store.(these are where I shop)
They would never dream of eating at McDonalds, Arby's or Taco Bell (where I eat when I can afford to)
And my kids never ever had name brand anything when they were growing up!!!!!
Why then are we so broke? Well lets see....economy had something to do with it, prices going up faster than our pay checks. Oh yes and I did buy some collectibles that I guess I really didn't need. But here's the thing, all the while our kids were growing up we made sure they had a roof over their heads and food in their tummy's and clothes to wear and a warm bed to sleep in. While Mr Gab and myself went without.
Now here is the funniest thing ever.........................................If you knew my daughter and some of her friends they would all tell you that the jacket I'm wearing right now for winter I've had for like 20 years! In fact the one friend hasn't seen me since I came back here to care for my dad and when they seen me they are like you still have that Jacket and your still wearing it? Like they just couldn't believe that I would still have such an out of date style and still wearing it.
In fact my oldest grandson's dad hasn't seen me in 13 years and was surprised that I was still wearing the same ole coat!
One of the other places our money went was into fixing up this house a few times so that we could live comfortably, like when we went from a 2 bedroom to a four bedroom. Like when we added a 4 car garage on, to house our cars so Mr Gab didn't have to lay in the snow to fix them when they broke down. Oh yes and that's another thing Mr Gab always fixed our cars rarely did we ever take them in to a mechanic.
Whew I'm done!

Anyways if you haven't had a chance to check out the store over there on the left hand side under shop with me at lookatwhats4u. Please do and take a minute to sign my guess book. We just had it all updated and are pretty proud of the things we offer in our store. I'm not asking you to buy but should you see something you'd like please feel free to go ahead and purchase it.
Oh and if you have visited it once or twice in the past know that our front page items change daily.
Hope you week is going well.

Ive been tagged!

Thanks to Walker Ive been tagged. This seems really easy to do so I shouldn't have much trouble there. It will be tagging the 7 bloggers. lol

List 10 honest things about myself (TRUE and interesting things - not just the color of yours socks!)

ok so here goes.

1)Ive always wanted to be a nurse. My dad told me to join the Army to get all my training. So I went down and signed up. The training went well, we practiced giving shots to oranges. But when it came to sticking a needle into a real persons arm I couldn't do it. The Sargent told me to go home and have babies. He said women were only good for two things being a nurse (which I just failed at) and being a mom.(boy he would be in real trouble today if he said that to any women).

2) Ive always had to call my mom when I got upset. She was the only one who could get me settled down. Its been really hard since she passed Ive picked up the phone so many times to call her only to realise she wont be there. Now I usually call my sister or one of my girlfriends from high school to vent.

3)I love cats and have had at least one cat all my live except for one year when Mr Gab and I lived in an apartment. My first cat I got when I was two years old. I carried her home with both my hands around her neck. She didn't protest. I couldn't say cat nor kitten so her name became keeeeee, (sounds like key).

4)I also love dogs and for most of my life I have had 2 dogs. Our last dog was while we lived in SD. He was a toy poodle and something else mixed and man was he one hyper dog. We ended up taking him to the shelter, only to have one of our neighbors up the road adopt him. I really miss not having a dog but Ive been working on Mr Gab to get at least one.

4) I have a Handicapped sister. When we used to go shopping people would stop and stare or pull their kids away from us. I would lose my temper and shout at these people calling them "morons" and worse.

5)I swear like a sailor! Its a very bad habit that I picked up as a child(I started at age 10)It mostly started because of people who treated us different because of my handicapped sister. My dad has a very bad temper which I have as well. Unfortunately I didn't bother to stop it while my kids were small so they have it as well, but I have been holding it back with my grand kids. They have to do something really bad to see that temper.

6)I like to wear shorts and go barefoot all year round and have been known to go out into the snow like that. I really don't like shoes. Most woman have a closet full of shoes where I have just 3 pairs to my name. Plus 1 pair of slippers and 1 pair of boots.

7) when other girls were out flirting with boys I was taking auto mechanics in school and working on cars. I was what many called a "tomboy" I didn't notice boys until my senior year and then I just didn't give a damn! After school I went to work never really expecting to get married. I wanted to I just didn't think I would. I also told my girlfriends I was going to have 22 kids and no husband!(man am I glad that didn't come about)

8)I don't like living in this house. In fact I didn't want to buy this one but Mr Gab talked me into it. Ive always hated this house. But have made do. When we moved to SD the house we bought has some of the same characteristic's as this one.It has an open floor plan like this one, but the kitchen is bigger than this one and there is a true dining room where here there is an eat in area. The bathroom out there is bigger than this one. But there is no basement just a crawl space where here we have a full basement. Both houses are on corner lots and double lots at that. Both have 4 car garages. I guess I just wanted a house that reminded me of this one after all we have lived here for 25 years before we moved there for 5 years and then came back here. I am more at home in SD than here in MN.

9)I can drive a stick and when I get into a car with a stick I become this "woman" who thinks she is showing off. Some how when I get into that car its like no other woman but me can drive a stick. It really goes to my head. But in truth I don't really like driving a stick so I always talk Mr Gab into making sure its an automatic before we buy it.

10)I am a very friendly person who most say I'm out going. But actually I'm very shy. One of the things my material grandmother told me was talk to everyone even if you don't know them because they may be your best friend you just don't know it yet. When I worked in the nursing home I was the minority. But I talked to everyone. One guy who would never answer me but I kept talking to anyways finally turned to me one day and asked me why? I said why what? He said why are you talking to me your white I'm black. I got so mad and said what is the differences between you and me? Other than the fact that you are male? I said you eat like me, you breath like me, you talk like me, you dress like me (one leg in at a time sorta thing)and if you get cut you bleed like me. So I said what is the difference? Then I said OH OH WAIT. I held my arm next to his and said. I know whats different....You have a helluva better tan than me. He started to laugh and from that day on we were good friends.

So there ya have it. 10 true things about me that most don't know or maybe thought they did now they know for sure.

Hurray

MERRY CHRISTMAS.

peace and happiness to all.

From Gab and her family

Sunday, December 21, 2008

The count down is on

Here at our house the grand kids are happily counting down the days left till Christmas.
But here is a small but funny little tid-bit:
Youngest grandson who is just 23 months old(at the end of this month at least he will be). We have been teaching him to talk.
We tell him to say Uncle so and so. Well Now he has one great uncle named (ok sorry but I gotta use the name in order for this to work so apologies ahead of time) Chris. But little Lj wont say Chris. Every time we say Uncle Chris He says Uncle Hot dog! Every single time. Some times I will say can you say Chris? and he comes back with Hot dog. Now Lj hasn't seen Uncle Chris since he was about 6 maybe 8 months old. SO where he came up with Hot dog we aren't sure but it is funny. So here I am trying to get Lj to say Merry Christmas. Yep you got it, He says Merry Hot dog! Christmas sounds too much like Chris so to him its hot dog! LOL. He is just a total cutie.

Anyways I know your all busy and getting ready for the day, But I'd like to ask you a question. What if any traditions do you have at your home that makes Christmas special for you and yours? Now even if your single there must be some tradition that your family does every year that makes your families Christmas special. From the food you make to stories you tell to even the decorations on your tree. I would like you to share them with me. I will start the ball rolling.

Here I decorate....(over decorate Mr Gab says) Well ok maybe I do go over board a little but I love the whole Jesus born Christmas day as well as all the different ornaments I collect that make my Christmas special.
I have about 7 miniature trees. One tree has Disney Ornaments, One tree has John Deere ornaments,One tree has coke ornaments, and for heavens sakes I don't remember what all I have. But each tree has a theme. The reason I cant remember is they are still at home in SD. I haven't used those in 4 years. I also have a whole collection of Liberty Falls Buildings that I use to decorate(this year I didn't put them up because we just didn't have the room to do it) I also have some Coke Buildings that were for members only that I also use. Then of course we decorate the outside. and it seems every year I add more to what was the year before thanks to garage sales.
As for food. Well it's usually either Ham or Turkey. This year will be Turkey. My daughter will again make the Scalloped Oysters that was my moms tradition every year. I have these green dishes that I have collected over the years (they all match)

that I use to hold the olives pickles etc.(they too are in SD so I have been using some Tupperware that is meant for condiments like jelly or honey has three cups that sit in a holder that will hold all nicely).

I can compromise, when I have too but I try to stick with each thing that everyone knows that I use and look fore wards to seeing them at Christmas(and sometimes Thanksgiving)
On Christmas eve we leave the Christmas lights inside and outside on all night so "Santa" can find us.
The kids are up by about 6am and I make them wait till I can get up. Then each kid gets one present and they take turns opening theirs before they get the next gift. Then its breakfast and preparations of dinner. Of course if there are Christmas specials on TV they will be on and of course "football". These are some of my traditions that we do each and every year.

So take a minute and share yours will you?

Calmer

Ok so I was going to post about why I was seeing red,but something else came up that has me thinking for now I will just wait. This other thing is just a little more important. So for now just this tiny update. Hoope you all doing well.

Seeing red

Ok I'm so mad right now Im seeing red! Sooo instead of doing a post today of what Im mad about(I need a little time to cool off) I will give you some new pictures of Lucky and Pumpkin. I hope you enjoy them even if you dont really like cats! (p.s. furnace went out again...guess we have no choice but to get new one now!)

Here is Lucky checking out what I'm eating. He now has a nasty little habit of trying to either get into your bowl or on your plate while your eating or actually tries to take food outta your mouth. He did that to Mr Gab the other day and bit his lip and Lucky went flying. No he wasnt hurt but he sure knew not to try that again!

Lucky sitting on my lap where its warm.
Lucky and Pumpkin both sitting on my lap. I've got a quilt on so I'm a warm spot!
Here are the two cats sleeping together on back of couch. Can you see that they are facing different directions?
Sorry about this one. There was so much sun coming in and I didnt want to lose the picture. Lucky is actually sitting on Pumpkin, and Pumpkin is letting him!

Lets start out Monday with a joke

Yep I know its Sunday night but maybe you didn't actually get here Sunday night and it's really Monday!
Hope you enjoy this little joke as much as I did!

A woman walks into the Mississippi welfare office,
trailed by 15 kids.

"WOW!" the social worker exclaims. "Are
they all yours?''

"Yep, they are all mine," the flustered
momma sighs, having heard that
question a thousand times before.

She says, "Sit down Leroy." All the children
rush to find seats.

"Well," says the social worker, "then
you must be here to sign up. I'll need
allyour children's names."

"Well, to keep it simple, the boys are all named
'Leroy' and the girls are all named 'Leighroy'."

In disbelief, the case worker. "Are you serious?
They're ALL named Leroy?"

Their momma replied, "Well, yes-it makes it easier.
When it's time to get
them out of bed and ready for school, I yells,
'Leroy!' An when it's time
for dinner, I just yells 'Leroy!' an they all
comes a runnin. An' if I need
to stop the kid who's running into the street, I
just yells Leroy' and all
of them stop. It's the smartest idea I ever had,
namin' them all Leroy."

The social worker thinks this over for a bit, then
wrinkles her forehead and
says tentatively, "But what if you just want ONE
kid to come, and not the whole bunch?"

"Then I calls them by their last names."

I'm a good daughter and a stinker too.

Last week when I was at my dad's house he talked about one of his cats dying and saying that he should go over to the humane society and getting another cat.
Well, I told Mr Gab this and he's like I should see if they have any large cats to get rid of at one of these Vet's that I go to. I said yeah and find out what it cost to adopt one. Well soon Mr Gab came home one night tossed me his cell and said "look" So I went to the pictures and seen two beautiful cats one Female one male. So I said I'm going to email these to my sister C and see which one she likes. So I did. Then I talked to her the next morning and asked her which one she liked. She hadn't been online yet so while I waited for her to download the pics we talked. Then I heard Awww that one is cute. I said which one she said the Male one. SO I said well check out the female one too. So she did and again I hear awww shes cute too. And I say well which one should we get dad? And she's like I don't know why do you do this to me? And I say cause I couldn't make up my mind either.
SO I tell Mr Gab you pick and surprise us.
Well, then I get to thinking (man I gotta stop doing that) What if dad wasn't serious what if he really don't want a cat? So I call sister C and say "call dad and tell him Mr Gab has a cat that needs a home and would he like it?" So she calls dad and asks. Soon she calls me on my cell and asks "how old is this cat?" I say Oh two or three.
Dad says yeah that's ok, then he ask is it male or female? Now I laugh my you know what off. Well honest! I had no idea which one Mr Gab was picking. SO I say I don't know. Well dad says that's alright bring the cat up.
SO Mr Gab brings home the male cat last night and oh is he pretty. And this morning I drive up to dad's house and I take the cat in and now dad is in love with this cat. They usually go see my sister D on Thus. but today dad didn't want to go he claimed he wasn't up to it. I think and this is what I told sister C that he just wanted to get to know his new cat better. Well I must say I made my dad really happy. Even if I made sister C do all the dirty work of calling and checking with dad.
When I left he was pretty happy with his new friend. Funny thing.....when I was a kid growing up he "hated" cats! really!!!!
I think he like them now because he is lonely and they are what keeps him going they give him a reason to live. Either way I'm glad sister C and I decided to go ahead a get one of the cats.

And the winner is........(and other things)

The Vikings!

I can't believe it. MN Vikings won again yesterday. And we played a great team Detroit. and I have several good friends in Michigan and all I can say is nah nah nah we beat you! LOL

Ok sorry I just had to do that because so many people think our Vikes stink. And sometimes I agree. But so far this year they are doing an amazing job.

Then last night I went to a friends church for Advent. and had a wonderful time. All except singing. I still cant. Even more so with this dang cold. They had some appetizers and cookies and candies. and I was good I had one candy and one cookie. They had some Ice Cream and I made sure the cup I had had the least amount in it so that I ended up with maybe two bites. I want to keep going on loosing this extra weight and even though I'm semi trying I hope that I can still drop it. This is of course the worst time of year to lose weight with all the Christmas candies and cookies. I even plan on making some but I also plan on watching how many I eat. (as few as possible! or none at all)

Here is what my grandkids did this weekend. We havent used tinsel in years but I thought why not(silly me forgot the kitten) So far both cats have left the tree and decorations alone. I think the grandkids did a wonderful job decorating grandma and grandpa's tree. What do you think?

And today I have a house full of sick grandkids. Two have the flu one has strep and baby is well(so far) Glad I got a flu shot!

I went to the doctor's yesterday,my rheumatoid doctor!

The nurse tells me get on the scale..........Gab takes off her jacket puts her purse aside and gets on...............................peeks through her eyes and sees...............

"I'm not sure but I think I've lost some weight" I tell the nurse. She says yes I think so lets go see.

So we go back into the room where she takes my blood pressure, takes my pulse, and takes my tempature.
Then she brings up my last visit (to see him) and says "yes you've lost 20 lbs"
Then she counts on her fingers Oct, Nov, Dec...In two months she tells me you've lost 20 lbs. Have you been trying? (I was there on Oct 1st)

Trying, trying are you kidding me I'm at least 150 over weight of course I'm trying.
No I say, I stopped trying. When I tryed I seemed to gain more weight each time so I stopped trying.
Well, she says I guess that has worked for you great job!
I mean talk about putting me on top of the world! YES!!!!!!

A Late Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday to my brother

Hi everyone hope your Thanksgiving was good and that you all had plenty to eat. Hope you didn't stuff yourself too much. I was up at about 5:45am and started the turkey. I then did some dosing,in my chair until daughter came over to pick up the pie that I had forgotten to bake night before. Mr Gab worked the overnight shift and had gotten home at 6:45am and went right in to bed. He needed all the sleep he could get before they all showed up. When daughter and youngest son and family had gotten here, daughter had asked me if I had called her older brother. I said no. Well she tried and got a message that he was out of minutes. So I said don't worry if he isn't in jail he will be here its free food. Sure enough about 1/2 hr later he was here with his girlfriend. We ate about 1:30pm and then we just all kinda sat around doing the memory thing about when my mom was still alive. How she always cooked goose and I never had an actual Thanksgiving turkey dinner until Mr Gab and I had been married about 10 or so years. We talked about the scalloped oysters that grandma always made and how that was one of the things we carried on.
Our Daughter's cell rang. She was like now what? She answered and soon she was very mad. And when she got off phone she was yelling. What we all got was that baby L who was with daddy had gotten hurt and was on way to hospital. She had thought "daddy's" Motorcycle had fallen on him.
So while we all waited and worried she had gone out there to see what happened and how bad he was hurt. 2 1/2 hrs later she called to say it was "daddy's" Mountain bike that fell on him and he had 4 staples in his head. Awwwww poor baby!!!!
Any ways she got back (without the baby) and they stayed only about an hour more. I had fallen asleep in there during that time and I think Mr Gab might have been asleep as well.
So everyone went home. I said to Mr Gab "wow I think that's the first time in years that we've had a Thanksgiving dinner and no one started a fight" I had to tell youngest son only twice to lower his voice. Daughter called back at about 9 and said "did I just dream that or did we make it all the way through dinner and the day without anyone fighting?" I said yeah amazing huh?
Lucky spent most of his day in the kennel. There were way to many people for him and he started to have accidents alot. So he stayed hidden.
When we got into bed all of a suddened I realised that it was also my brother's birthday.
So I had to call him today and wish him a happy late birthday. He had had a busy day yesterday and said I may have not even gotten him. So I guess forgetting until so late was a good thing.
I didnt shop Black Friday. Heck I dont like getting up early as it is and I never have money to go shopping on Black friday. What I did was go to my chirpractor's and came out feeling somewhat better. The pain is still there almost as bad as day of accident. But I have my good days and my bad, more bad than good.
So there ya have it I truely hope you all had a good turkey day. Have a good weekend!

Lucky part 2

So now you've all met Lucky. He is a cutie. Pumpkin isn't to sure about him just yet, but with a little time and love I will have them best friends.
So in the mean time let me tell you Lucky's story.
Mr Gab drives to WI every day to do pick-ups for places like eye doctors, and Veterinarian's.
One day he came home and told me about these three little kittens at this one veterinarian's office. He said there was a white one a tiger (grey and black strip)one and he never told me what the third one was. I said bring home the white one. He said no, we cant afford any more pets.
The next day he came home and told me how the tiger striped one recognised him when he walked in and came right over to him. This went on for about two weeks, he would come home and tell me all about this little kitten. Then I said to him one day "you should see how your eyes light up when you talk about this kitten" I said" she must remind you of Frisky" He said" yes in a way he does." You see Frisky was a kitten born in our dresser drawer. She was the runt of the litter. In fact I had to take the other 3 kittens out of the drawer put Angel and frisky in the drawer and close the drawer to almost shut in order to get Angel to feed her. She was the last one to open her eyes but the first one to figure out how to get out of the drawer. Then she climbed up on our bed and slept with us. She was so small she fit into the palm of Mr Gab's hand. In the middle of the night Mr Gab yelled turn on the light I think I killed her. I turned on the light to see him holding this little kitten and she wasn't moving. But I ran my finger down her side and she lifted her head and meowed at me. I laughed at Mr Gab and went back to sleep. Those two also played a game at night. He would try to beat her to bed and she would always win. Some times he would say Frisky lets go to bed and then they would "race each other" She was my cat in away but mainly she was his. We had her for 16 years and let me tell you Mr Gab cried when she was put down due to her health. She was suffering so it was best way to do it but either way it made us both cry.
So when he started to talk so much about this kitten I knew he was hooked. I finally said bring him home. He said he's not the one you want. I said "it doesn't matter I'll love either one and you know that."
Well a few days went by and then came Monday. First Mr Gab was late getting home. No problem that occasionally happens. The I checked one bank and found out we were in the hole and it was more than the check I was expecting back. So I called Mr Gab to ask him about it. He asked me how much and I said well I wasn't sure it wasn't listed. Well he goes to late bank is closed, we will just have to pay the 35.00 over draft fee.
Well then I decided to check bank number 2. And what do I see? A transaction for 31 something to a Valley View Vet's office in WI. Bingo!!!! Light came on and I knew.
When Mr Gab finally got home he opened door slowly and seen we were all in the living room and he was trying to hide what he had in his other hand by keeping it outside. I said "you might as well bring him in I already know. So he brought him in then asked how did you know? So I told him it was already out of the bank. He said "damn you for checking the bank when most of the time I forget"! LOL
Well first thing he wanted to do was name him 007. I said no!
It took me about 2 minutes to name him Lucky. Lucky because he made Mr Gab fall in love with him and buy him and bring him home. After all Mr Gab was very insistent that we were not getting any more pets.
I then kissed him and said I guess I don't get the dog I want. He said No not this year. Oh well I love Lucky and enjoy teaching him all the little things a kitten should know!
Oh hey BTExpress, I love both cats and dogs and if I had my way I would have 2 of each at least!

I had to have an MRI done today. The guy doing it was so young I thought he was an intern or something and here he was the Doc. lol. Anyways I wont know how my back and neck are doing from the accident until next week so I'll keep ya posted!
