All news all the time

Well lets see what is the news here at this end? Hubby dropped at very large and very heavy tv on his feet not once but twice and the second time he tore off the toe nails on two toes which now are infected!

Sigh

Then finally yesterday our whole ordeal with my dad's estate is finally over I got my check for 871.70 that should have been closer to 20,000 plus. But you know when you go to court you gotta pay the lawyer and the court fees and whats left is what you get weather or not you wanted to go to court or not. so of course you lose money. I cant even begin to tell you how upset and pissed off I am about that.
But its too late and I gotta take what I get. So as I take the cashier check to the bank I sat in the car looking at the check and realising that that is what is left of dad's stuff. All I have are the memories some good most bad but memories they are. I cant seem to go one day with out saying "Oh dad used to" Or "I remember when dad and I" and the one I love best is when we go down a certain road and pass a certain building and I say" that's the building I sold all the tools back to the guys when I was 5 yrs old" "and I made tons of money"
And of course the best memory is we are driving down any road and I yell "FLY WHEELS" and dad would slam on the breaks say where I would tell him and he would either turn around or back up till we found the fly wheels and of course stop. Now depending on your age you may not know what fly wheels are but way back in the olden days they used gas engines to do all the work like cutting wood and pumping water. there are two big wheels one on each side and dad called them Fly Wheels! So as we drove from any where going who knows where I was the look out for Fly Wheels. and when I saw them I would shout Fly Wheels and dad would go back to the place I seen them and talk to the owner about buying the gas engine from the people where we found it. We usually came home with another gas engine OR on the good days when I found 1 set of fly wheels they would have more in a barn or shed or behind some trees that I didn't see. then dad would try and buy them all and usually he did. At 1 point in time I think we had over 300 gas engines. Dad would take them to shows, Not all of them at one time but he'd pick four or more and put them in the van and on a trailer and go to the engine show. That is where I fell in love with the Rumely oil pull. I still want one. I like the other steam engines but the Rumely is my favorite.
Another memory is going to auctions. Dad usually bought the boxes no one else wanted for 1 dollar. And of course there was always some other box or two that dad paid much more for. and of course clocks and engines!!!! OH MY YES we also had over 300 clocks. all old. Dad even had some guy go to England and buy 3 clocks from there. I have one of them. dad let me take it home before he passed.
So there ya have it some of the good memories. I wont bore you with the bad ones.....I will just say they are some dad's should never do to daughters!

I'VE GONE PURPLE CRAZY

yes I sure have!

It all started when we went out shopping for a new toaster. We went to Target to see what they had. Mr Gab was looking at a discontinued one and I'm like no that's what we did last time, and look what happened. I walked up the isle a little farther and said OMG look! Mr Gab came up to see what I was looking at and I said Purple toaster!!!! He looked at it for a few seconds and then put it into the cart. I said Hun you don't have to get the purple one just because I like it (after all they had blue(another of my favorite colors)red silver and black). But he said it's ok. So I had a purple toaster made by Oster. With some really cool settings....defrost for when your bread or whatever is frozen, etc.

I had received a Fingerhut Catalog in the mail and had been looking through it and seen they carried Paula Deen Pots and Pans and guess what they had them in PURPLE!!!

SO Mr. Gab and I got on our laptops and started looking for Paula Deen's Items to see who had them the cheapest. TARGET.com won again.
They had a 10 piece set (the others had 12 or 15 piece sets which was either measuring spoons or some utensils) All I wanted was the pans. So Mr. Gab said order them. So I did.

Then I called daughter who had just seen the toaster that morning and said she wanted one just like it because she is a PURPLE freak too.
She's like pots and pans in PURPLE too OMG I gotta get me some, where did you find them......(I shoulda lied) But I told her. A few minutes later she txt me to tell me she had bought both toaster and pans in PURPLE to which I said COPY CAT!!!!!

I can't wait to get my pans. I already have a square frying pan from Paula Deen but its in RED. And I love it!

I guess I never thought about what color my kitchen is to kinda match it but hell I'm not staying here much longer so when I get to my new house I can redecorate the kitchen to match my toaster and pans!!!!

update......I still have my annoying cough. I guess its time to go in and be checked out. Little man (youngest grandson) has terrible ear infection in his left ear. And while we are dealing with that his tube came out of his right ear. Yesterday I was changing the cotton ball we tape to his ear to catch the fluids that are pouring out (doctor said its normal) and I looked in his ear a bit and what do I see? His tube coming outta that ear! So unfortunately I think when he gets over the ear infection they will put the tubes back in. Poor fella!

My poor little grandson

Has suffered so much in the past week, He has my cold (which by the way is still hanging on)then yesterday he started to vomit a lot. and all day long. Daughter took him to urgent care only to be told its viral infection. SO she went home and made him comfortable as possible. But by 11 pm he was still vomiting which is weird since he hadn't eaten all day and she decided to take him to ER. SO she calls me up which wakes me (even though I had just gotten to bed) and asks if she can drop the the other 3 boys off and have me take the oldest two to school while the third one waited for her to get her because he had a doctors appointment at 9am. So ok I wait up for them and they get here at midnight and I get them right to bed reset the alarm to 5:45am and drop into bed. And found I couldn't sleep for worrying about Little man. Daughter shows up soon after that and asks me if I could take Little man back to the doctors because at 4 am that morning his ear started leaking fluids and she talked to the nurse and they said yes he needs to be seen. So I take him in and she says yes his right ear is red even though thats not the ear leaking then she looks at the other ear and says OMG that one is really bad and there was still alot of pus in the ear. So she gives him some ibuprofen and then orders up two medications. Both needs to be taken 7 to 10 days. we got home and both drifted off to sleep mine to get disturbed by the 2 older boys asking where I was ( it was almost 2:30pm and they had been out of school for 10 mins)So I quick went and got them. When little man woke up he really had fluid (a little reddish too) coming out so I text daughter asked her to call the nurse and ask if that was normal. She did then text me back and let me know it would be draining like that for 2 days and he wouldnt be feeling better foe 2 days as well. UGH.

In the mean time hubby has been (almost begging) me to go to the doctors for my cold. I keep thinking it will get better all on its own but right now as I sit here coughing up a storm I am actually thinking maybe it is time to go in and see what they say. my thoughts in that??? UGH

Life

Sorry I haven't been around Much.....This cold has really taken it's toll. Worst part is grandkids wanna give grandma a kiss when they leave and I say on the cheek only. Although most of them have this cold too......I just dont want to keep giving it over and over when we do start feeling better. Now I am actually better than I had been But the coughing and runny nose is still here. I just dont cough as often and its not always cough till I choke. So in away it is better.

Good Bye Davy Jones of the Monkees.

So sad to learn of Davy Jones passing. He was only 66! that is only 6 yrs older than Mr. Gab which is scary.
I had a crush of Davy Jones. I listened more to the Monkees than the Beetles. In fact I don't even remember hearing the beetles till after Mr Gab and I was married... So that made me 19/20. But Davy Jones mmmmmmm Yeah Day Dream Believer that was me all over. Last Train to Clarksville.

I just have been listening to You Tube all day yesterday after I learned of his passing. Sigh
