ONLY 5 MORE DAYS

OH NEVER AGAIN!

What a week! On Thursday we decided to drive over to South Dakota and pick up our washer and dryer. We plain just couldn't afford the laundry mat any more and figured that even with high gas prices in the long run driving over to get our almost new set was worth the money in gas in the long run.
Well as you know we babysit 4 of our grandchildren which means they too had to come with. Now the oldest two ages 12(almost 13 in his eyes(not until Nov!)) and 9 have traveled with us many times and love going to SD.
The two youngest ages 5 (almost 6 in his eyes again! (not until Dec)) and 17 months. I expected some grief with the 17 month baby of course after all there is the diaper changes and the find his binkie(nuk) and his ba-ba(bottle) But for the other three I thought it would be a nice ride because I provided them with a two screens portable dvd player with a pile of movies that they choose.
And add one cat who doesn't like the car and off we went.
We were only 20 miles from home when from the back seat area we hear "Are we in SD yet?" are ya kidding me? The next question was how far from SD are we? We told them it was still about 200 miles to the boarder. Then we said sit back and watch the movie.
Next of course was the I'm hungry and I have to pee. So after many stops we said that's it no more stops until we get at least another 100 mile down the road. Then the fighting started.
Of course the baby not wanting to be left out cried and threw his food at his brothers.
I started to sing la la la and soon he was copying me. Very soon after that he fell asleep.
We finally get to SD and say good bye to MN and then of course it was now how much farther? We lets see about 150 more miles. We were going to the farm we didn't think we would even get to the house that day. But once we got to the farm and opened the camper and turned on the air and unloaded we decided to drive out to the house in town. Once there we opened up everything and Mr Gab had to take his trimmers and work on all the little silver maple trees that were growing in my garden. Then he cleaned up some other stuff around the house, the guy who started mowing our yard this year showed up(wanting his money of course) We all chatted awhile and another neighbor (one who never spoke to us while we lived there) walked over and talked for awhile. He wanted to know if we were coming back. We both said we wanted to but first the house in MN had to get spiffed up enough to sell. (in order for us to get a little extra from it to fix house out there)
We finally drove back out to the farm only to have a terrible rain storm that scared the baby so bad that he ended up sleeping (napping) with Mr Gab and me. He would sleep some wake sleep some wake all night long. So neither Mr Gab nor I got much sleep. In the morning we thought there might have been a tornado that had gone through the area.
We got out to the house in some on and off raining. Loaded the washer and dryer and a few other things I wanted and headed out for home. And yes it rained off and on all the way home which seemed to make the kids ever crankier.
We finally got home at about 7pm and got everything unloaded and crashed. Well we really didn't go to sleep we just plopped down in chairs and relaxed. In between relaxing Mr Gab hooked up washer and tried it out. He had to do some readjusting to get it to work(its been sitting there for 4 yrs doing nada)
But now we can wash clothes. He wont hook up the dryer for about another week but when he does I will be able to wash and dry a whole lot faster!!
So there ya have it. Im a little happier now with the washer being here and even more so that I got a few other things I really wanted.
Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Ps its storming here! Rain and lightening and thunder that shakes the whole house!

Pss Only 6 more days!!!!!

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine.. And those who don't.
As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom,in water there is bacteria. In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day,at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.
However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, Whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.
Remember: Water = Poop, .........Wine = Health
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of poop. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service.

Name

A name is a name is a name and call it any thing else and its still a name.
And boy they sure have some different ways of nicknaming some.
Like we have Robert....he can be Rob or Bob
Steward can be Stew
Richard can be Rick, Rich or even Dick
Cassandra can be Cassie, Cass, Sandra, or even Sandy
Abigail can be Abby or Gail
But the one that I dont understand is Jack can be called John and vise -versa.
Take my name It's Gale but most girls spell it Gayle or Gail but no I get stuck with a man version spelling like the wind. (now granted it kinda fits since I talk so much and am long winded)
And what a bout a girls name being Jackie? We dont call her Jack.( she would probably hit you if you did)
But no matter what the name its still just a name.
I'm just glad I was not born during the 70's when some poor kids got name weird names because their parents were part of the "free" times.
Hope your all having a good week.

Decisions

I have about three things I wanted to write about but good golly Miss Molly I just cant decide. So I think what I'm gonna do is try to compress each into shorter versions so to do all three.

First:
Wow what about this weather? I don't know about you all but here in MN we have had cool weather for several weeks now. In fact the weather has been so cool Ive still been wearing a sweatshirt. The good thing about this? We don't need the A/C. Oh how nice that is to save money in one area.

Second:
Ive always wanted to write a book. Don't ask me why but Ive always thought I could do as good a job as anyone else.
I read alot. I started with what my dad calls "smut" magazines. My mom called them romance magazines. I also read Western paperbacks, romance novels, mystery novels, and scary spooky novels by Stephen King. I always figured I could make mine a romantic(hot ands sexy) Western novel with a little spookiness included.
But alas I settled for blogging.

Third:
Still don't have a washer. Still missing Puff. Finally getting Pumpkin to eat again. Getting this house in some kinda order now that daughter and two grandsons have moved out.(although I still see them everyday as I still babysit all 4 of her boys). Wanting more than ever to move back home to South Dakota.

So there ya have it compressed all into one short blog. I mainly did that because I didnt want to bore you to tears. lol Hope your having a good week. Oh and Happy hump day!

Ooops I forgot

Last week Monday my nephew graduated from High school. He graduated with top honors! Sure glad he didn't take after me lol. Gosh I'm so proud of him. Mr Gab daughter , kids and I were there to see him get his diploma. In a second he was there on stage walking across and then it was done! he was now outta high school. And it seems like just yesterday when he was born. His brother who graduated last year is in his first year of collage was home for the summer. These two boys mean the world to me not just because they are my nephews. Oh no we are close like mom and sons. I think its because their mom and I are super close. I spoiled those boys rotten and always said I was practicing for when I had grand kids. So by the time their sister was born I did have a grandson so now I had to split the spoiling. I still spoil her just like my grand kids and she too means the world to me. She had wanted her ears pierced and I said I would pay for it only if her mom said it was ok. Mom agreed and the three of us went off to pierce her ears. I had to be stern with her and tell her she had to take care of them because she said she was old enough to do it and I had better not hear of mom had to this or that for her. She said she would and she surprised me and did as told!
So now my other boys are done with high school and both are going to collage and Oh my that just make me feel older than ever! Why? Because this is my baby sisters kids!

OMG OMG

Hi everyone, glad you stopped by. I am still missing Puff like crazy but I don't cry as much as I did the first 3 days after Puff passed.
So let me up date you a little bit.
My title for example.....
Well on Tues of this week, Mr Gab went to work trucking and when he had to get fuel for the truck he stopped at the station store where he works. T (his boss) was working and when Mr Gab came in to sign for the fuel, T said "Oh Mr Gab I'm so glad your here". Mr Gab thought Oh no he wants me to work later tonight. But T said " I have something for you." Mr Gab said Oh ok. T handed Mr Gab an envelope with two tickets to the Twins game on weds night. T didn't say anything other than there will be free food. Now I don't know about where you all are if you have specials at games but here we have nights where they have all the hot dogs you can eat in a certain section. So When Mr Gab had a few seconds he called me to ask me where section 133 was. I went on-line and found that section 133 was right behind third base. Mr Gab said that was cool. And we didn't think much about it till Weds night. We found out there were only 2 tickets so Mr Gab and I were the only ones to go which didn't make the boys too happy. So off we went. When we got there I looked down the steps and turned to Mr Gab and said I don't think I can make it. I said how far down do we have to go? The lady there to help asked to see our tickets to tell us where to go. And then she said........your in the suite. Mr Gab and I looked at each other and said we are? She said yes right over here and pointed to the doors right there on that level. I tried the door and it was locked and I told the lady and she said just knock. So I did. I noticed a sign on the door that said "Holiday" But I didn't know why it was there. Well we soon found out. The tickets were for the day that Holiday and MN Lottery hosted the big boat give away. Only 5 stores in MN did this and each of these 5 stores had gotten 2 tickets for someone to come to the game. SO Mr Gab and I got to sit in a suite and watch the game in comfort plus food and drinks all we wanted. They had beer, soda, coffee and water. The food was great as well. They had shrimp, cheese, fruits, chicken drumsticks, BBQ ribs, popcorn and chips and much more! Mr Gab's boss T never even told us that these tickets were for Holiday employees and a guest. So there were 8 other people plus us, the district manager from our area, and two from MN lottery. And our team won 7 to 5! and yeah we came from behind to win it but they did.
And then today our daughter moved out. gosh what a mess that was lol. It took her 5 vehicles to move almost all her stuff. wow the house seems empty. So now I gotta go around a figure out what I want to do with everything that I had all pushed into one room(our bedroom). I would say I will miss them but I will see them every day as I will still be babysitting them.
And this weather......Oh how good it is to have it be so very cool, until today. It sure is saving on electric bill by not using the AC.
Well I tried to find a picture for today's hunt but I just couldnt find one. Hope you all are having a good weekend.
