Yes or no

So we have been bouncing back and forth between moving and staying here. Reason to move: we lost our home. Reason to stay: Our kids and grand kids. Reason to move: its time for us now. Reason to stay: daughter girlfriend's mother passed away yesterday and it just brought home how life is short and we never know when our time is up. Daughter realised it could be her mom at any time and if we move away she will loose time with me and her dad. Plus if we move we will be further away and if we fall ill it will take time to get to us if she can at all. Her girlfriend lived fairly close to her mom yet by the time she got there her mom was gone. Yeah I know all the arguments for this...its your time youve been there for your daughter all these years take your time now. But every single time I think about leaving I cry. Every time I hug any one of the grandkids I cry. it seems all I do now is cry! I am torn. I just dont know what to do.

This packing crap is for the birds. Had I known 38 years ago when we got married and started going to auctions with my parents what a nightmare it would be now I would have never gone...yeah right in your dreams. I couldn't have stayed away had I wanted to. it was in my blood so to speak. Dad got me hooked on auctions when I was a kid. when I first started going to auctions dad went for Gas Engines Fairbanks Morris, John Deere and any odd named one dad could find. He got a Tom Thumb in perfect condition all (I believe in orginial)paint like new never ran. That one sat right in our living room like the trophy it was. Then he bought me one called Pontiac which was suppose to be super rare.....but it was in really rough condition. Our dream was to one day restore it. Now Im thinking lets just get rid of it. I would go looking through boxes and boxes of stuff seeing what would catch a little girls eye then beg her daddy to buy it for her. BUT the joke was on me most of the stuff I wanted no one else wanted so dad usually paid $1.00 and got it and we usually went home with much much more than we expected too, plus a bunch of gas engines. Then I fell in LOVE! Dad loved going to engine shows some times taking engines himself. We would drive to other states even to go to these shows. Just about every show had parades. They would have some old cars and fire trucks then the steam engines. Rumely Oil Pull. That was my dream tractor. I wanted one in the worst way. We had a place for it, my uncle Harold's farm in South Dakota so there was no reason not to get one. OH WAIT MONEY! they did cost a bundle, so my one dream of owning a Rumbely never came true but every other little thing I wanted at auctions I pretty much got. Think I should have an auction lol

38 and counting

Yesterday May 6th Mr.Gab and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. 38 years together all I can say is wow I never thought we could do it. I hoped we could but when you see people all around you getting a divorce its hard to stick it out because when its your friends getting divorced and you all were part of a foursome and now its a three some you have a very uncomfortable feeling because you still have a partner and they dont. But we have hung in fought the fight and celebrated. We just had a quiet dinner at AppleBees. 2 for $20 meal. No desert and no drinks. I didnt want to take a chance with the pills I take so I passed on the drinks. So on to our next 38 more years wish us luck

Well, any ways I'm busy packing busy going through boxes I already packed and unpacking them and either getting rid of stuff or tossing it.

I'm getting ready to go back to selling on Ebay again......Lookatwhats4u................to see if I can make money that way. If not I guess I will take it all to Salvation Army and donate it.

Wow

Yay......its happening.......we are moving back to South Dakota......at least temporary! Then hopefully we will be moving down to Florida! I've waited so long or this. I've also bounced back and forth about rebuilding the house in S.D. and staying there or Building a new house on the farm or even moving a Mobile home to the farm and staying in S.D.

the packing is driving me nuts. I have been thinking of just getting rid of it all. After all most stuff I haven't seen in 6 yrs or better. lol some is still packed from moving the last time. But there is a madness to it all or at least an explanation......either we weren't staying here so I left it packed or we didn't have the room to put it out. grrrrrr so many decision's!!!!

I'll try to be better at posting. But if it gets to much with the packing I;ll wait till we are moved and settled. Oh yes that will be including Facebook.......I am already slowing down on talking(posting) and playing games. SEE YA

All news all the time

Well lets see what is the news here at this end? Hubby dropped at very large and very heavy tv on his feet not once but twice and the second time he tore off the toe nails on two toes which now are infected!

Sigh

Then finally yesterday our whole ordeal with my dad's estate is finally over I got my check for 871.70 that should have been closer to 20,000 plus. But you know when you go to court you gotta pay the lawyer and the court fees and whats left is what you get weather or not you wanted to go to court or not. so of course you lose money. I cant even begin to tell you how upset and pissed off I am about that.
But its too late and I gotta take what I get. So as I take the cashier check to the bank I sat in the car looking at the check and realising that that is what is left of dad's stuff. All I have are the memories some good most bad but memories they are. I cant seem to go one day with out saying "Oh dad used to" Or "I remember when dad and I" and the one I love best is when we go down a certain road and pass a certain building and I say" that's the building I sold all the tools back to the guys when I was 5 yrs old" "and I made tons of money"
And of course the best memory is we are driving down any road and I yell "FLY WHEELS" and dad would slam on the breaks say where I would tell him and he would either turn around or back up till we found the fly wheels and of course stop. Now depending on your age you may not know what fly wheels are but way back in the olden days they used gas engines to do all the work like cutting wood and pumping water. there are two big wheels one on each side and dad called them Fly Wheels! So as we drove from any where going who knows where I was the look out for Fly Wheels. and when I saw them I would shout Fly Wheels and dad would go back to the place I seen them and talk to the owner about buying the gas engine from the people where we found it. We usually came home with another gas engine OR on the good days when I found 1 set of fly wheels they would have more in a barn or shed or behind some trees that I didn't see. then dad would try and buy them all and usually he did. At 1 point in time I think we had over 300 gas engines. Dad would take them to shows, Not all of them at one time but he'd pick four or more and put them in the van and on a trailer and go to the engine show. That is where I fell in love with the Rumely oil pull. I still want one. I like the other steam engines but the Rumely is my favorite.
Another memory is going to auctions. Dad usually bought the boxes no one else wanted for 1 dollar. And of course there was always some other box or two that dad paid much more for. and of course clocks and engines!!!! OH MY YES we also had over 300 clocks. all old. Dad even had some guy go to England and buy 3 clocks from there. I have one of them. dad let me take it home before he passed.
So there ya have it some of the good memories. I wont bore you with the bad ones.....I will just say they are some dad's should never do to daughters!

I'VE GONE PURPLE CRAZY

yes I sure have!

It all started when we went out shopping for a new toaster. We went to Target to see what they had. Mr Gab was looking at a discontinued one and I'm like no that's what we did last time, and look what happened. I walked up the isle a little farther and said OMG look! Mr Gab came up to see what I was looking at and I said Purple toaster!!!! He looked at it for a few seconds and then put it into the cart. I said Hun you don't have to get the purple one just because I like it (after all they had blue(another of my favorite colors)red silver and black). But he said it's ok. So I had a purple toaster made by Oster. With some really cool settings....defrost for when your bread or whatever is frozen, etc.

I had received a Fingerhut Catalog in the mail and had been looking through it and seen they carried Paula Deen Pots and Pans and guess what they had them in PURPLE!!!

SO Mr. Gab and I got on our laptops and started looking for Paula Deen's Items to see who had them the cheapest. TARGET.com won again.
They had a 10 piece set (the others had 12 or 15 piece sets which was either measuring spoons or some utensils) All I wanted was the pans. So Mr. Gab said order them. So I did.

Then I called daughter who had just seen the toaster that morning and said she wanted one just like it because she is a PURPLE freak too.
She's like pots and pans in PURPLE too OMG I gotta get me some, where did you find them......(I shoulda lied) But I told her. A few minutes later she txt me to tell me she had bought both toaster and pans in PURPLE to which I said COPY CAT!!!!!

I can't wait to get my pans. I already have a square frying pan from Paula Deen but its in RED. And I love it!

I guess I never thought about what color my kitchen is to kinda match it but hell I'm not staying here much longer so when I get to my new house I can redecorate the kitchen to match my toaster and pans!!!!

update......I still have my annoying cough. I guess its time to go in and be checked out. Little man (youngest grandson) has terrible ear infection in his left ear. And while we are dealing with that his tube came out of his right ear. Yesterday I was changing the cotton ball we tape to his ear to catch the fluids that are pouring out (doctor said its normal) and I looked in his ear a bit and what do I see? His tube coming outta that ear! So unfortunately I think when he gets over the ear infection they will put the tubes back in. Poor fella!

My poor little grandson

Has suffered so much in the past week, He has my cold (which by the way is still hanging on)then yesterday he started to vomit a lot. and all day long. Daughter took him to urgent care only to be told its viral infection. SO she went home and made him comfortable as possible. But by 11 pm he was still vomiting which is weird since he hadn't eaten all day and she decided to take him to ER. SO she calls me up which wakes me (even though I had just gotten to bed) and asks if she can drop the the other 3 boys off and have me take the oldest two to school while the third one waited for her to get her because he had a doctors appointment at 9am. So ok I wait up for them and they get here at midnight and I get them right to bed reset the alarm to 5:45am and drop into bed. And found I couldn't sleep for worrying about Little man. Daughter shows up soon after that and asks me if I could take Little man back to the doctors because at 4 am that morning his ear started leaking fluids and she talked to the nurse and they said yes he needs to be seen. So I take him in and she says yes his right ear is red even though thats not the ear leaking then she looks at the other ear and says OMG that one is really bad and there was still alot of pus in the ear. So she gives him some ibuprofen and then orders up two medications. Both needs to be taken 7 to 10 days. we got home and both drifted off to sleep mine to get disturbed by the 2 older boys asking where I was ( it was almost 2:30pm and they had been out of school for 10 mins)So I quick went and got them. When little man woke up he really had fluid (a little reddish too) coming out so I text daughter asked her to call the nurse and ask if that was normal. She did then text me back and let me know it would be draining like that for 2 days and he wouldnt be feeling better foe 2 days as well. UGH.

In the mean time hubby has been (almost begging) me to go to the doctors for my cold. I keep thinking it will get better all on its own but right now as I sit here coughing up a storm I am actually thinking maybe it is time to go in and see what they say. my thoughts in that??? UGH

Life

Sorry I haven't been around Much.....This cold has really taken it's toll. Worst part is grandkids wanna give grandma a kiss when they leave and I say on the cheek only. Although most of them have this cold too......I just dont want to keep giving it over and over when we do start feeling better. Now I am actually better than I had been But the coughing and runny nose is still here. I just dont cough as often and its not always cough till I choke. So in away it is better.

Good Bye Davy Jones of the Monkees.

So sad to learn of Davy Jones passing. He was only 66! that is only 6 yrs older than Mr. Gab which is scary.
I had a crush of Davy Jones. I listened more to the Monkees than the Beetles. In fact I don't even remember hearing the beetles till after Mr Gab and I was married... So that made me 19/20. But Davy Jones mmmmmmm Yeah Day Dream Believer that was me all over. Last Train to Clarksville.

I just have been listening to You Tube all day yesterday after I learned of his passing. Sigh

Still here

I've still got a cold!!!! I would say it's not as bad as it used to be but what the heck is that really saying? I'm still coughing....my nose is still running...and my throat hurts like the dickens.....oh wait my eyes aren't watery any more that's an improvement.

My biggest thing lately.....................one of the pills I take give me gas........really really bad gas! NO Not necessarily smelly....just a lot of it. I cough I toot.....I sneeze I toot...... hell I just plain toot toot toot toot.
I've tried to stop each pill for a couple of days but haven't figured out yet just which one is the culprit of course there are about 3 pills I can't just drop for a couple of days but those pills I have been taking for while so I don't think they are the cause.

So I guess I live with it. I don't think taking something like Beeno would be a good idea.

I also seem to be burping alot............and I'm so damn tired of saying excuse me all the time.! Mr Gab passes gas and does he say excuse me HECK NO!!!! So why should I have to? when he's here and I pass a little gas he either glares at me till I say excuse me or he makes this noise like "are you kidding me that's disgusting" So its like I don't hear you saying anything when you do it and its a normal body function yet I get the dirty looks.

I guess I need to go outside or something to make him happy!

No school tomorrow means sleep over tonight

Instead of me having a quiet night alone while Mr.Gab is at work I have all 4 boys. Now to understand this is simple...Im giving daughter a break so she doesnt have to get up so early to drag them over here since there is no school tomorrow...President's day. She has had to take her oldest son all last week and will have to again this week. His first class is at 6:50am so you have to get up at about 5:30am or 5:45am to get him there on time.(I got up at the 5:45 time as I live closer to the school.) Now granted your saying why are you getting up at all? Well our oldest grandson has been living with is living with us. So I get him to school. Now the reason daughter has his again this week is my Durango doesn't have any breaks and I mean NONE! First time I drove it when I discovered no breaks I was alittle confused as I had drove it just that morning to take grandson to school and everything was aok then. So after we got back home when I discovered we had no breaks Mr Gab looked at it and found no fluid in the thingy. Which means there is a hole somewhere. But last week Mr Gab had fallen at work and was too sore to get down to work on th breaks. Then we also had a cold snap where we finally got winter tempatures. So he couldnt go out then. He works all this week until Friday so grandson has to stay at his moms for another week. Because Mr Gab doesnt get off work till 7am a little to late for grandson to get to school on time.

I on the other hand had a break from getting up early last week and will again this week so I figured I would give her one day as its a holiday and the kids will be already home.......maybe I'll get lucky and they will sleep in........better since its so late now........why am I up? KIDS BEDTIME

Thank god for the internet I guess?

Yesterday I was cruising , watching the feeds go by......some times I click on something to help a friend sometimes I just read what they posted...............................Then it happened................I seen a feed, started to read when it disappeared..............What I screamed at my computer NO WAIT.........but it was too late it was gone and I had only a glimpse of what looked like some bad news from our family up north. So I did the next best thing I started to see if any family members were on. I found one and I asked him if he had heard anything from up north. (his parents and sister live up there) He said no and he had talked to his dad just that morning.

SO I started checking my friends list to find family members Im friends with and then go to their page to see if I could find what I thought I had read. I finally found the family member who had posted then left a message. Nothing......so I looked again and seen they had used their cell phone to post it so I quick put message on facebook in the comment area. Now I got an answer................

It seems that hubby's brother-in-law had died. What I've learned so far is that he had had heart surgery went home and they found him dead. Thats it. So we are now waiting for the rest of the information...............................

BUT...................................I do not think we will be attending his furneral!!!!! WHY? Because he abused his wife(hubby's sister) and because of him his daughter committed sucide. So no I dont believe we will be there......But we would like the rest of the details.

well its about time

Mr Gab and I have finally decided that its about time to do what we want without kids, grandkids and everyone else who seems to be caught up in our lives.

He wanted to really wait till he turned 62 to retire early (funny thing though just about 8 months ago he was talking about working until he turned 69) But his aches and pains have caught up with him. and he just wants to rest now.
He has gotten his own laptop......he plays on Face Book (lol I got him addicted) we also play on Pogo. And yes we both pay for it. We didn't start out paying but when all these interruptions kept happening while we were trying to enjoy a game Mr Gab said oh hell pay for it. There has been several times we didn't because money was to tight and two of our three kids would pay it just to keep us happy(or so they said).

So we have talked and talked about what we should do.....I still want to be in Florida. BUT then again I love the farm.......wide open spaces no close neighbors (closest neighbor 1 mile in any direction which is a-ok with me) But the winters can be really bad. So then we talked about summers in SD and Winters in FL. well, yes that would work. Mr Gab also talked about buying a rv but neither of us can agree on a small one or one a bit bigger. One on top left is smaller one one top right is bigger one. Well of course money plays into it But I said if we sell everything we could buy either one. then again if we sold the farm as well and bought the bigger one we could just live on the road.
One thing we both agree about is we DON'T WANT LEATHER SEATS! Cloth is just fine for us.

I AM PISSED

Ok breath in out deeply NOW YELL AT TOP OF LUNGS..................I swear the more I learn the more I wish I could do .........................

Ok so you may or may not have heard about we have our granddaughter alot. its kinda like this she comes Monday spends night till weds when she goes home with her mom then comes back Thurs after school and goes home Friday with her mom. OK? OK!................But here's the deal (what Ive learned in the last week...........

Granddaughter is on meds (or suppose to be) she hasn't been on them for over a week now.......granddaughter is really off the wall..........we are trying trust me but its getting harder and harder....................granddaughter's mom told Mr Gab on Friday that she was waiting for Medical assistant to come through because these pills are really expensive...........ok we can understand she move from one county to another and has to reapply right?

Now here's where it gets dicey..........................
Our oldest son shows up Monday and says that granddaughter's mom isn't getting granddaughter's needed pills because she wants to have granddaughter committed into a hospital.........then he yelled at his daughter and asked her why she ate a whole bag of sugar on Saturday?! WTF???? so I wait and listen....to hear" mom wouldn't get outta bed and get me something to eat and there was nothing else and I was hungry" Her dad our son got mad and yelled at me. I'm like I didnt get involved with her and have a child with her and he's like you dont understand mom all she wanted her for was to collect money she tried that with her first kid and look what happened she lost him and has to pay her x-boyfriend child support so she figures she can get me to pay her because of our daughter. He goes I buy her what she needs but I wont give her mom the money otherwise she spends it on stuff like massage and crap like that. So I said well if you buy her what she needs then why was she eating a bag of sugar because there was nothing else to eat. Well of course no answer for that!!! I just hope some how some way stuff gets changed but it may be awhile

dreams

LOL I've got a short one this morning another quickie

OMG you should never leave the door open because any one or thing can walk right in. I was "spring cleaning" and opened all the windows and doors to air out the house and dust it out you know do carpets and such. and then I closed it all up only to realise there were geese every where in my house. And I couldn't get any of them to leave because they were all sitting on nests. So every time I walked close to them they would honk and hiss protecting their eggs. Soon all eggs hatched and I was able to open the door and get them all to march outside. man what a dream that was.

Miss Whitney Houston has passed

Too many of us—myself included—are guilty of making insensitive jokes about the demise of Whitney Houston, her frail frame, loss of one of pop's purest voices, and battle with drugs.

But none of us are laughing now.

On Saturday, Houston's publicist confirmed to the Associated Press that the award-winning "I Will Always Love You" singer died. She was 48. The timing of her death, the eve of the Grammys, the biggest music event of the year, makes the horrible news even more tragic. According to CNN, Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. PT at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The Beverly Hilton is the venue for the music industry's most prestigious pre-Grammy party hosted by veteran executive Clive Davis, who discovered Houston.

In an industry flooded with novelty artists, who disappear after scoring one hit, Houston's longevity was unquestioned when she released her debut single, the ballad "You Give Good Love" in February 1985. The song's soothing opening ad-libs displayed her soulful roots while also celebrating her pop sensibilities.

Houston's sound was distinct, and clearly separated her from the funk-laden stylings of the era's other female R&B singers. Plus, she was a model who appeared in "Glamour" and "Cosmopolitan" magazines.

Houston's sound made sense when considering her pedigree. She was the perfect melding of the styles of her mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston; cousin, 1960s pop singer Dionne Warwick; and godmother, queen of soul Aretha Franklin.

Houston's self-titled debut album topped the charts and was certified diamond. Her career was impenetrable throughout the release of several follow up albums, 1987's "Whitney," 1990's "I'm Your Baby Tonight," and 1992's "The Bodyguard" soundtrack.

Houston's fans were concerned when she married R&B bad boy Bobby Brown in 1992, but they professed their happiness.

By the late 1990s, Houston's drug problems began to become tabloid fodder. In a 2002 interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer, Houston admitted to her struggles, but maintained that she was doing fine.

The public received its first real glimpse of Houston behind-the-scenes in 2004 when she appeared on Brown's reality series "Being Bobby Brown." The bad publicity move depicted Houston as profane, combative, and delusional, seemingly supporting the behavior of someone on drugs.

Among the saddest indications of Houston's fall was her 2009 comeback album, "I Look To You." While the album received positive reviews, her live performances signaled that the damage to her voice was beyond repair.

Happy Hubby

Mr Gab has an old laptop that was held by electric tape and looks like some one had took a screwdriver to the keyboard area ...in fact half the time the keyboard didn't work. So when we got taxes back I told him go get a new one. Well, first he looked online at Dell and then he looked on E-bay and then looked at Walmart online and Micro Center online. I have been asking when he was gonna go but he just kept putting it off. Then on Friday the breaks went out on my car. And wouldn't you know it it gets too cold to work on the breaks. So today He decides to go look at laptops. And low and behold he bought one. We got home and he's raving about the fact its so thin and runs so fast. He doesn't have to hold it just right to get it to work and he can now play games on facebook faster than before. when he clicks it actually goes right now....before he would click and take a nap before it would start moving. I was just plain laughing over the joy on his face at having a "good" laptop. Ah what money can buy.

ahhhh quickies arent they the greatest?

Yes quickies are a lot of fun they are fast and get the job done! course it all depends on who your talking too. Some will say a quickie can leave you wanting more...a quickie can only satisfy only a little and makes you wish for the real thing.......ah yes quickies are just that quickies. lol

Well as you may or may not have guessed I'm Back to writing my blog. Life can be so frustrating at times that you want to pull out all your hair. Now this can be hard for a cancer patience.
I have a friend whom I sorta knew in High School all those years ago. When I found him again it was to learn he had a very rare form of cancer. We connected and chatting getting caught up in each others life and then all of a sudden he wasn't there any more. I know not what happened. I of course freak out and run to check the obits and only find a listing for an old neighbor we had years ago. That got me thinking even more. Where is he? did he get worse? I wonder daily and I pray. Funny thing is some days I try to bargain with God and tell him make me sick and him because he still has so much life to live where as I see myself done at times. All I know is I miss him and worry.
