Oh Happy Day.....

Oh Happy Day, I'm Singing in the rain, I'm singing in the rain. Dance to the music.....Ok your thinking she's gone off the deep end.
Nope

Gab is happy! Very Happy!

I went to the doctor's yesterday,my rheumatoid doctor!

The nurse tells me get on the scale..........Gab takes off her jacket puts her purse aside and gets on...............................peeks through her eyes and sees...............

"I'm not sure but I think I've lost some weight" I tell the nurse. She says yes I think so lets go see.

So we go back into the room where she takes my blood pressure, takes my pulse, and takes my tempature.
Then she brings up my last visit (to see him) and says "yes you've lost 20 lbs"
Then she counts on her fingers Oct, Nov, Dec...In two months she tells me you've lost 20 lbs. Have you been trying? (I was there on Oct 1st)

Trying, trying are you kidding me I'm at least 150 over weight of course I'm trying.
No I say, I stopped trying. When I tryed I seemed to gain more weight each time so I stopped trying.
Well, she says I guess that has worked for you great job!
I mean talk about putting me on top of the world! YES!!!!!!
Sooooo hows your week?

A Late Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday to my brother

Hi everyone hope your Thanksgiving was good and that you all had plenty to eat. Hope you didn't stuff yourself too much. I was up at about 5:45am and started the turkey. I then did some dosing,in my chair until daughter came over to pick up the pie that I had forgotten to bake night before. Mr Gab worked the overnight shift and had gotten home at 6:45am and went right in to bed. He needed all the sleep he could get before they all showed up. When daughter and youngest son and family had gotten here, daughter had asked me if I had called her older brother. I said no. Well she tried and got a message that he was out of minutes. So I said don't worry if he isn't in jail he will be here its free food. Sure enough about 1/2 hr later he was here with his girlfriend. We ate about 1:30pm and then we just all kinda sat around doing the memory thing about when my mom was still alive. How she always cooked goose and I never had an actual Thanksgiving turkey dinner until Mr Gab and I had been married about 10 or so years. We talked about the scalloped oysters that grandma always made and how that was one of the things we carried on.
Our Daughter's cell rang. She was like now what? She answered and soon she was very mad. And when she got off phone she was yelling. What we all got was that baby L who was with daddy had gotten hurt and was on way to hospital. She had thought "daddy's" Motorcycle had fallen on him.
So while we all waited and worried she had gone out there to see what happened and how bad he was hurt. 2 1/2 hrs later she called to say it was "daddy's" Mountain bike that fell on him and he had 4 staples in his head. Awwwww poor baby!!!!
Any ways she got back (without the baby) and they stayed only about an hour more. I had fallen asleep in there during that time and I think Mr Gab might have been asleep as well.
So everyone went home. I said to Mr Gab "wow I think that's the first time in years that we've had a Thanksgiving dinner and no one started a fight" I had to tell youngest son only twice to lower his voice. Daughter called back at about 9 and said "did I just dream that or did we make it all the way through dinner and the day without anyone fighting?" I said yeah amazing huh?
Lucky spent most of his day in the kennel. There were way to many people for him and he started to have accidents alot. So he stayed hidden.
When we got into bed all of a suddened I realised that it was also my brother's birthday.
So I had to call him today and wish him a happy late birthday. He had had a busy day yesterday and said I may have not even gotten him. So I guess forgetting until so late was a good thing.
I didnt shop Black Friday. Heck I dont like getting up early as it is and I never have money to go shopping on Black friday. What I did was go to my chirpractor's and came out feeling somewhat better. The pain is still there almost as bad as day of accident. But I have my good days and my bad, more bad than good.
So there ya have it I truely hope you all had a good turkey day. Have a good weekend!

Lucky part 2

So now you've all met Lucky. He is a cutie. Pumpkin isn't to sure about him just yet, but with a little time and love I will have them best friends.
So in the mean time let me tell you Lucky's story.
Mr Gab drives to WI every day to do pick-ups for places like eye doctors, and Veterinarian's.
One day he came home and told me about these three little kittens at this one veterinarian's office. He said there was a white one a tiger (grey and black strip)one and he never told me what the third one was. I said bring home the white one. He said no, we cant afford any more pets.
The next day he came home and told me how the tiger striped one recognised him when he walked in and came right over to him. This went on for about two weeks, he would come home and tell me all about this little kitten. Then I said to him one day "you should see how your eyes light up when you talk about this kitten" I said" she must remind you of Frisky" He said" yes in a way he does." You see Frisky was a kitten born in our dresser drawer. She was the runt of the litter. In fact I had to take the other 3 kittens out of the drawer put Angel and frisky in the drawer and close the drawer to almost shut in order to get Angel to feed her. She was the last one to open her eyes but the first one to figure out how to get out of the drawer. Then she climbed up on our bed and slept with us. She was so small she fit into the palm of Mr Gab's hand. In the middle of the night Mr Gab yelled turn on the light I think I killed her. I turned on the light to see him holding this little kitten and she wasn't moving. But I ran my finger down her side and she lifted her head and meowed at me. I laughed at Mr Gab and went back to sleep. Those two also played a game at night. He would try to beat her to bed and she would always win. Some times he would say Frisky lets go to bed and then they would "race each other" She was my cat in away but mainly she was his. We had her for 16 years and let me tell you Mr Gab cried when she was put down due to her health. She was suffering so it was best way to do it but either way it made us both cry.
So when he started to talk so much about this kitten I knew he was hooked. I finally said bring him home. He said he's not the one you want. I said "it doesn't matter I'll love either one and you know that."
Well a few days went by and then came Monday. First Mr Gab was late getting home. No problem that occasionally happens. The I checked one bank and found out we were in the hole and it was more than the check I was expecting back. So I called Mr Gab to ask him about it. He asked me how much and I said well I wasn't sure it wasn't listed. Well he goes to late bank is closed, we will just have to pay the 35.00 over draft fee.
Well then I decided to check bank number 2. And what do I see? A transaction for 31 something to a Valley View Vet's office in WI. Bingo!!!! Light came on and I knew.
When Mr Gab finally got home he opened door slowly and seen we were all in the living room and he was trying to hide what he had in his other hand by keeping it outside. I said "you might as well bring him in I already know. So he brought him in then asked how did you know? So I told him it was already out of the bank. He said "damn you for checking the bank when most of the time I forget"! LOL
Well first thing he wanted to do was name him 007. I said no!
It took me about 2 minutes to name him Lucky. Lucky because he made Mr Gab fall in love with him and buy him and bring him home. After all Mr Gab was very insistent that we were not getting any more pets.
I then kissed him and said I guess I don't get the dog I want. He said No not this year. Oh well I love Lucky and enjoy teaching him all the little things a kitten should know!
Oh hey BTExpress, I love both cats and dogs and if I had my way I would have 2 of each at least!

I had to have an MRI done today. The guy doing it was so young I thought he was an intern or something and here he was the Doc. lol. Anyways I wont know how my back and neck are doing from the accident until next week so I'll keep ya posted!

Long long ago

Way back many many years ago....My mom and I started to write to pen-pals. One day my mom got a letter from her pen-pal in Michigan. She was a young mom with two children the youngest a boy of 5 months. I was about 13 or 14 years at the time. One day mom was reading a letter from her pen-pal and she made a comment that this pen-pal said about me. Well one thing lead to another and soon I was writing this same woman in Michigan, as well as my own two pen-pals.
Over the years we chatting about everything under the sun. Of course when mom got a letter from her she usually said something about me and mom had to share. Funny now that I look back it almost seems strange that mom and I wrote to the same lady and we were all very good friends.
Any ways time went on I got married started a family and only kept in touch once in awhile as my mom was still writing every week, I didn't have to update as often. Soon I didn't hear my mom talking about her much, I knew she was still writing to her, but we didn't talk as much as we used too. Once in awhile mom would say oh her daughter did this or her son did that or her hubby said this or did that. We had always thought one day we would all drive out there to visit and meet in person. Yes we had sent pictures over the years but it would have been so very nice to actually meet.
Then of course mom got sick and it wasn't long before she passed.
I often had thought about Dawn and her family during the funeral and next few weeks. Then one day as we were cleaning out mom's junk drawer I found an old letter to her.
SO I wrote to let her know her old friend had passed. The letter came back. NFA (no forwarding address).
About a month went by and I got my mail one day, and in it was a magazine about gardening.
Now mind you I never read front cover to back cover in one sitting as I usually don't have time. But this day I sat right down and went page by page. I got to the back and they had a section from other subscribers asking for seeds and such in exchange for different seeds that they wanted. NOW I NEVER READ THIS SECTION!!!! But on this day I started to read what everyone was looking for and thinking that maybe I had something from my garden I could share.
And all of a sudden I came across this lady who wanted Horseradish roots. Well low and behold I had some that I could share. Then my mouth dropped open. This lady had the same name as the pen-pal my mom and I had wrote to so long ago.
So I wrote to this lady and said yes I have horseradish roots that she could have. Then I asked if she might be the one that we wrote to so many years ago and that I had some news.
Well, she wrote back all excited and said yes it was she and she hoped that it was good news.
I wrote back and said no I'm sorry its bad news then proceeded to tell her about moms passing. Well we got right on the Internet and started to chat. I told her how I never ever read that section of the magazine but did that day.
She told me it had to be my mom's doing that she pushed me to read it,because she knew that Dawns request was there. It was just meant to be.
So after all these years we are back in contact and making plans to now actually visit.
And just when we thought we had it figured out her hubby dies. But she told me tonight that he couldn't believe that we got back together over horseradish roots! Yes indeed it is a funny thing to bring us together again, but I'm sure glad it did.
I'm just sorry her hubby had to die, before we got a chance to meet. But I know for sure that my mom was there waiting for him and they are talking about old times and just waiting for the rest of us to catch up with them.

Good bye to a friend.

Death is hard no matter what the situation. My dear dear friend that Ive know since I was about 13, hubby died this morning. They knew it was coming as he had had kidney failure and some other problems that usually take the persons life after awhile. He'd been going back and forth for 4 years now and I guess his body just couldn't take it any more.
I wish more than any thing if I could be there with her.The funeral is Monday. But she lives in MI.
I just don't have the money to travel out there to be with her. So I talk to her when I can on line and if she calls I'll be there for her too. I don't want to call her for fear that she might be in the middle of something like folks visiting so I just wait to hear from her.
Our story is very unique in the way we met and got to know each other through out the years. And one day soon I will tell you it. Its kinda funny and kinda strange.
In the mean time please pray for strength for my friend as she may be left out in the cold. She may loose her house and everything else.
I wish I was there but in the mean time I love you Dawn! and may god be with you in this time of need.

TGIF

This week has been crazy....I've been sick with the most awful cold and sore throat! I missed most of my appointments with the chiropractor. In fact today was the first day all week that I was feeling good enough to go. When I got home at first I was a cussing out the Doc because he did an adjustment on my neck and at first I had the most awful headache, but after a short nap I felt a whole lot better.
My sister C called yesterday, my dad lost of of his cats.....He was so upset because he couldn't find any of them so he thought all 3 had died! After awhile one of the 2 still left came out of hiding and dad cheered up some. I told sister C that we should go get a cat and sneak it into the house and then when dad(if he even noticed) said hey what cat is that we'd say "Oh don't you remember ?" That's so and so. LoL
Our oldest son came and spent one night. I was sleeping in my chair while kids were at school and he did some dishes for me. Then yesterday while Baby was still with his daddy grandma did some cleaning......man oh man did I sweat it out. But I got a lot of cleaning done.
And all of the family has started to plan for Thanksgiving...I'm not really into it this year for some reason. Although I've started talking about decorating for Christmas already something I don't normally do until after Thanksgiving! So any way thats how my weeks been going...How's yours?

Remembering

Hey every one how are you today? Me I've got a cold that just won't quit!
But that is not the reason for this post.
First I ask a question, Have you ever had someone whom you loved that has passed? A mom, dad, sister, brother, wife, husband? or any other loved one?
Do you celebrate their birthdays after they are gone? No I don't mean a big fancy party or anything like that. Maybe just a quiet meal with other family members where you talk about old times good and bad? Or do you just remember in your own way by yourself?

Well, that's what I did on Friday. I did a post but I didn't mention that it was my mom's birthday on Friday and if she was alive she'd be celebrating 76 years. Its still hard for me to believe that our mom is gone. She only got to see her first great grandson for a whole year before she passed. But during that year she was so sick that I know she didn't get to enjoy any special time with him. At the same time my youngest sister had had her third child a daughter who was born 4 months before my grandson. So here she had two new members a new granddaughter and a great grandson and she was very sick. I know she tried in that last year to be a little part of their lives even though they were really to young to remember it. But it was hard for her to. Knowing as she did that she had lots to live for but that she wasn't going to make it. My daughter T was her only granddaughter for the longest time and now she finally had a second granddaughter. And her oldest granddaughter gave her her first great grandchild!
The thing is Friday was her birthday and yes I was busy with my life and grand kids and yes I remembered it I just wanted it to be a quiet day that was just for me to remember some of the things that I shared with my mom. Silly things, stupid things and OMG did I just do that, whats mom gonna say?
So I let the day pass quietly and did my own thing and thought of my mom all day long, and decided that I would post a little about her later when I was all done having her to myself(in a sense that day)as Im sure my sisters also had her in their thoughts that day too, as well as the rest of our family probably did.
It's really hard to say good bye to the ones you love especially when taken so young. And it makes it even harder when it happens around the holidays. I have vowed every year to try and keep traditions going and every year it gets harder and harder to do. Its to the point where I no longer want to even cook the Thanksgiving meal or the Christmas meal. It's like I would rather just take the time to be with my family so that one day they dont have to say I wish I had spent more time with mom/grandma at Thanksgiving/Christmas rather that her cooking and I come eat and go. Today I sit and think why is it so important to make a big holiday meal just to get family together and talk and maybe even disagree some and then go away till the next holiday? We are to busy in the kitchen preparing this big ole meal, then we are in the kitchen cleaning up and where or where did the time go? Why dont we have just a simple meal and then spend the rest of the day together and make memories?
But I know already I will be in the kitchen making that meal and sharing some family time.

Busy last few days & great news

Sorry I haven't been here for a bit...but yesterday I had a meeting to go to for my handicapped sister D. Both my youngest sister C and our dad were there too. After the meeting I dropped of Mr Gab and went back to my dad's where he took us all out to eat. Now by all I mean not only my sister and him but myself and 3 of my four grands that I babysit. The baby had gone home with his daddy yesterday.
After lunch we went back to dad's and chatted awhile then I took off to my girlfriend S's house. I didn't get to stay as long as I wanted because I had to have oldest grandson back here before 6(pm) as he was going out with his Big(big sister big brother program) And the other two boys were going to their mom's for awhile. After everyone was gone I drove back out to Fridley to pick up Mr Gab. Then we came back home. I had Mr Gab drive home because after I drove all day my neck and shoulders were hurting pretty badly. I was so glad I had an appointment for the chiropractor this morning.
Good News: Well while I was at my chiropractor appointment Mr Gab was here working on the Durango. Now it's not totally fixed but its fixed enough that I can drive short trips. Before Mr Gab went to work I said "hey now I have the car back but no money". He asked what I needed money for and I said I had wanted to take the kids to the movies as Madagascar Escape 2 Africa came out. He handed me the money and said have fun. SO I took the boys to see the movie. I haven't been to the theater in awhile, but hey even if its a kids movie it was fun and I laughed! Even if your all grown up this is a very good movie. Course it would help if you've seen the first one. Grandkids are still singing "I like to move it move it" Lol and I catch myself singing it too.
Have a great weekend everyone

3 grandkids pumpkin

This first pumpkin his oldest grandson's. If you can't tell he has ghosts and pac-man running across top and bottom. He did this design by himself with just small suggestions from grandma.
This is grandson #2's pumpkin. He too did his by himself with some "light"help from his bigs.(Big Brother Big Sister program)
And finally grandson #3 who is 5 almost 6. He had help from his mom and her friend. He did the heart eyes for me cause he wanted me to know how much he loves me!
This is the first year that I've gotten to sit back and not lift a finger helping. I usually have to "dig out the guts" because they think it's "icky" but for once no one asked me for help other than oldest grandson when he asked what shape (or how to cut) out the ghost and pac-man. All I did was draw it on paper then showed him and talked him through it. Once he got the hang of it he didn't need me any more. His pumpkin is mostly green. This is because it was a volunteer pumpkin that grew in our backyard this year. It got a very late start and we had to "pick" it earlier this week when the frost got bad. Plus the birds and stray cats were doing a number on it. We had hoped that it would "orange up" by tonight but it didn't get that far. Either way I think its a great pumpkin Charlie Brown!!!!lol
Don't forget to check out earlier post for Halloween
And one more thing before I go.......Grandson #3 wants me to tell you all a joke that he learned today.
"Why did the skeleton not cross the road?"

"Beacause he had no guts!"

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

I am soooooo Loved! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

This first pic is my cat Pumpkin getting lovey with me. Grandson thought it was cute and snapped the picture. Click on any picture to see them better.

These pictures of pumpkins are some at one of Mr Gab's stops and he liked them and sent them on to me so I thought I'd share. These people are very talented!

Halloween humor!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

hump day- docs appaointments

So here we are in the middle of the week again...whoo where do the days go? So lets start with Monday. I went to my normal Doctor and they did my blood pressure. Well this time the nurse wouldn't tell me what it was...usually I'm too high or too low.
So I waited for my doc and she comes in and she first reads my chart to remind herself of what all we talked about last time. Then she picks up the sheet that the nurse wrote my temperature and blood pressure on and looks at me and goes"WOW!!! your blood pressure is normal, I haven't had a normal one in awhile" I said well, I hope that's a good sign? and she says yes. We go over my aches and pains and I tell her I'm going to a Chiropractor and she tells me good, she was going to recommend that to me but as long as I'm already doing it she says keep up the good work. She tells me that we don't need to do blood work as I'm going in to see my Rheumatologist in Dec. So that was a good visit.

Then Tues I wake up and my neck and shoulders hurt so bad that I can hardly move them and I had a spot in the back of my head that was like a headache except it only hit every so often...enough to annoy me. I had a chiropractor's appointment at 9 so I slowly got dressed and went. He checked out what I was explaining to him that hurt and he said yes your very tight in and around the muscles of your neck. Right smack in the center of my neck was so bad that he wasn't sure if treatment would even help. But he used that electrode machine again and I went home.

Today I went in I didn't have a headache but neck and shoulders still hurt, and added to that either my muscles or my nerves were jumping all over the place. My arms actually shake. He put me on this roller machine where it rolls under you lifting and stretching out your spine. Then he did the electrode machine and some pressure points and I was done for today. I seen their Doctor who wants me to get another MRI done sometime next week. He also gave me a prescription for pain pills and muscle relaxers. The pain pills are for when I get the pain in my head like a headache, the the muscle relaxers so I can sleep better at night.

Now I don't go back until Friday. Main reason is that Mr Gab got scheduled for a overnight shift at Holiday tonight.

Now some news (well sorta) This news isn't all important probably to anyone but me but I'd like to share.
Yesterday on my way home from the chiropractor I stopped at the dollar store right up the road aways from us. It's on Portland. Now while this doesn't seem important it is. First I have been avoiding Portland ave going south. Especially at 86th street. Usually on my way home I will take American Blvd to Nicollet Ave and travel south on Nicollet till I reach 86th. Then I go east on 86th to Portland and turn south on Portland at that corner. For some reason it doesn't bother me to travel that way. Nor does it seem to bother me to travel North on Portland Ave. But yesterday I went to the Dollar store on Portland Ave and American Blvd. which means I went past Nicollet. Now sure I could have back tracked to Nicollet but I didn't. I went south all the way home. When I got to 86th, I slowed down to almost a crawl. As I went through the intersection I started to cry and I was glancing out of the corner of my eyes making sure there wasn't a car coming through my green light. I made it through the intersection and blew out the breath I didn't realise I was holding and then also realised that I was gripping the steering wheel in a death grip! I let loose some and wiped my eyes and stepped on the gas to bring myself up to speed (35mph) Then I laughed........I DID IT!!!!! I went through that intersection and made it.
I'm not sure if I will do it again right away as it was really a struggle for me but I know I can do it if I have to.
Have a good week.

NICE AND BIG SURPRISE

Well, here we are at the end of the week. I tried to post the other day but blogger wasn't up so I forgot it again until today.
On my very first visit to the chiropractor they did these electric shock things that feel like a small massage in place. pulling and pushing the skin around in a circle.
Then the doc did some pressure point pokes and sent me home. That was Weds. On Thurs morning I had three things: The bad news the good news and the OMG news.
The bad news was I woke up at 2:30 am and was still awake @ 5:30 am. There was some pain in my neck and lower back and I just couldn't drift off again.
The good news was I could lift my right arm over my head......I haven't been able to do that since the accident.
The OMG news.....I took my own shower with no help!
So fastforwards to today. Third treatment right? I should be pain free. LOL YEAH RIGHT she says sarcastically. But in all honesty I am doing much better than even the chiropractor thought I'd be doing at this point. So I will keep on going and keep on with what ever they tell me to do and maybe at some point in just a few weeks I wont have to go back to the chiropractor. Wish me well.

Here is the rock garden I hit.

This first pic is a little blurry...I was trying to get pic from my car on my cell.

This second one is a little better. The next day after I hit it they put up those signs. Just think if those signs had been there when I hit! YIKES more hurt I'm a thinking.

I went to Chiropractor today and it took over two hours to fill out paper work and to have him do a small exam, to see how bad I'm hurting what I can do what I can move and not move. He determind that Im going need to start in babysteps and I have to go the rest of the week. Then next week it will still be 3 times but maybe like mon weds fri that I will go. Not to sure if Im looking forwards to that but oh well I'll go especially if its gonna make be feel and move better. The poor Doc he move my right arm(even after I told him it hurt really bad)up and OMG! the tears poured down my face and he goes "oh Im so sorry, you just told me it hurt". Hopefully tomorrow he will be a little more careful!

Our youngest son T (oooh Im in trouble for this one)
And his three boys Jr,Tmb.jr,Js

I wish I knew where I put Mr Gab's mom and dad's picture but alas it's been packed away for awhile and right now I'd rather keep them packed so that we can get a jump on our next move.

Sorry Boys

Yesterday was our boys birthday. Our oldest son J turned 34 and our youngest son T turned 30. That make all 3 of our children in their 30's.
I did manage to talk to both boys although our oldest son had to be the one who called here.....He was is the hospital being treated for an infection which had his whole left arm swollen and red. I told him to make sure they took care of it right away, as I didnt want him dieing on his birthday. I had texted youngest son as I knew he was at work but when he got off he called because yesterday was the day they did his girlfriends D & C to clear her miscarriage up. That was not a good day because they did something wrong and she ended up staying in hospital over night. I havent heard so I dont know if she's ok or not.
When I was a new mom I played the year game. You know he was born in 1974 I was 20, then 1975 he was 1 and I was 21 and so forth. When he turned school age I added that like 1980 he is 6 kindergarten and Im 26.

LOL Well I was in middle of writting this when internet went down. When I finally got a hold of them they said someone at a road construction spot had killed the wires!
But anyways Ive since lost my train of thought where I was going with this post so I guess I'll just end here!
But before I go .......
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS
Mom and dad love you!

Ok here's an update-good and BAD

Good -sorta
Ok here's what the Dr said. I gotta take it easy the next 5 days then go slow. She said the blood in urine is normal for the infection I have. The bruise on my chest is very deep and could take up to 3 months to totally heal.

BAD
Ok now on the bad note. Mr Gab and I were sleeping when my cell rang. Daughter was calling. After some stupid small talk she finally got to the point.......she had been hit! She just got this van back last week Tues and had put in about $1100.in repairs. No one was hurt. Worse part this is her 2nd accident in like a month. Not sure our insurance company will like her much. This guy who hit her was Mexican and when the police told them to figure out who was at fault he just keep saying he felt sick and needed to go to hospital. Daughter was making a left. There was another car also making left in opposite direction, car who hit daughter was behind other guy and just as she started to turn left he shot out around other guy turning left and nailed her.

More bad news
Son's girlfriend had a miscarriage....:( no new grandbaby

REALLY BAD NEWS
Then today after school, my oldest grandson called me and was crying. Seems a friend riding his bike somehow had hit and knocked over my grandson and some how had put a cut into his leg.
I called daughter and told her to borrow car and get over to his school. She got there and then called me back to tell me he was going to hospital. He ended up getting 18 (maybe more the doc didn't really keep track)stitches. Daughter said that you could see tendons. (good thing I wasn't there I'd have gotten sick!)

I'm beginning to hate Oct. already. Hasn't been a good month for us.

So anyways this picture I have below has two meanings......
1) this is what my van used to look like.
2)If you look close enough you can see the black squirrel in driveway. I still want to get a better picture though.

I really hope it gets better here soon.

Dont know why But..........

My chest and stomach hurt more now than when I first got home. Any ways here are some more pictures of both cars

This one is her car.
This is the back side of her car when she hit me a second time around. this is her drivers side not sure why Mr Gab took this one.

Here is my drivers side. They had already straighten out the door to move it off the yard and onto the tow truck.
Front of van which I had already sent C by text and she posted for me.
But as you can see my car is a total waste. Now when Mr Gab went over to the yard where they had both cars on Thursday her car was already gone. So does that mean she is able to get hers fixed? Mr Gab told me my steering column was broke from the impact and thats why I couldnt steer us from hitting anything else. Im going to go later this week and get you a picture of the rock garden I came to a stop on. I will also try to get the whole corner so you can tell some what of how I ended where I did.
But for now Ive gotta run as I hurt and need to go rest. (only have two oldest grandsons this weekend so I do have a break from babysitting)

I'm just so glad to be alive

Hi every one, it's me. A whole lot of sore and a whole lot of black and blue.

This first picture is of my oldest grandsons forehead. you really can't tell but from the nose out in like a v is how big the knot is on his forhead.

This picture is of my chest and right arm(sorry BT not enough showing but hey its enough.) To be honest the right breast is all black and blue. If you can see from my neck down is where the seat belt followed and did a number on me. There are a couple of cuts and scratches as well but they all look black and blue too. Not sure if you can pick them out.
And this one is across my tummy! (yep I have a spare tire that needs to be gotten rid of) This one has spread out in the last day or so. It actually goes around and down side of hip. again following the seat belt.

I want to thank my sister C for keeping you all informed. And it the other blog you seen the front end of my Van. Well whats left of it any ways. I will tell you two things, 1) Im afraid to drive now. and 2) every time we drive past that corner I start to shake and cry.
I know it will take time to get over it.
I've got to stop now my tail bone is killing me sitting here but I wanted to stop in and let you all know I'm doing good. Thanks all who wished me well.

not posting to soon

Hi everyone this is gabs little sister c,
she wont be posting for a few days possibly.
she wanted me to let you know that today she was in a car accident.
she was on her way home from the bank when she was hit she had two of her grandsons with her.
the youngest grandson(her daughters son) had a little bump on the forehead and some bruises from his car seat belt.
the oldest grandson (also her daughters son) had a larger bump on the forehead and some bruises on the hip area from his seat belt.
gab has some cuts on her right arm a bruise on her hand that i seen, see may have had other bumps and bruises but those are the ones i could see.
i am sure she will be pretty stiff tomorrow, she was fighting nausea and she has to get up and walk before she could go home.
well when i left her the nausea won so i don't know if they were going to give her anything for that or not.
but if she couldn't walk they were going to keep her over night for observation.
all three had x-rays and cat scans and they came back ok so no broken bones or head injuries.
i guess the van she was driving is totaled.
the other driver ran a red light and hit gab on her side of the van.
thank god it wasn't any worse.
so keep her in your prayers.

Have you noticed?

I've done two things to my blog.

1) I've changed the color to pink because October is Breast Cancer awareness month.

2) I've dropped a lot of my side information...such as who visits, who I visit, etc. etc. I will put them back at some later date and time. But I'm gonna pick and choose what I put back. I was beginning to think my blog looked messy! I want a classy looking blog LOL.

Anyways dropping this stuff does not mean I can't find you....you can hide but I will find you J/K. You could hide and I couldnt find you I know.

And Im not leaving as many comments as before as with the little guy here its been hard to get online. IF MR GAB EVER has the time to look at my laptop! I could leave more comments. But either way. Im there for ya...just not talking much these days!

Oh my poor grandsons!

This is just not their week. Not good for me either!

It started on Weds.
Oldest grandson rides his bike to school. First thing that happened, was he hit something in the road and flipped over his handle bars. I had to drop something off to him at school and the Secretary called his room to learn he was at the nurses office. So she called there and ask but he had just been sent back to his room. The secretary asked what had happened and the nurse told her about the flipping and that he was basically ok.
When my grandson finally came to the office to get what I had come for he showed me his knee. BIG OWIE. Then he showed me his hand that had a little scratch. I asked him if he was ok to stay and he said yes. I told him if he needed a ride home after school to call me.
Then I went home. Half an hour later school calls and tells me to come get him, his chest hurt really bad. So I go up there and get him. When we get home I ask let me see your chest...thinking I might have to take him to the doctors. He lifted his shirt and there was a hugh scratch. I asked how come he didn't tell me about that earlier and he said cause it wasn't hurting then. Then he showed me all the cuts and scratches he had. He look like he'd been in a fight!
So we called the coach of football to let them know he wasn't coming to practice.
The next day he went back to school but he was hurting so badly that he really was more down than paying attention. He did go to practice but only on the side lines.
Now Weds was my bad day. I had a headache that turned into a migraine. By 9 pm we had to drop off the two oldest boys at their moms so Mr Gab could take me to the hospital. Where I was given 4 different shots. The first one was for my nausea the second was for sinus (which I don't think I have a problem with) the 3rd was saline solution and the 4th was for the headache. All was given through an IV thank goodness. We got home after midnight. We picked the boys up but really should have left them there.
Now today:
Daughter just called me. Our second oldest grandson was in the quiet room! This in itself is not good.
Last year he was there in the quiet room more that 25 times. We bribed him this year to stay out of quiet room.
He has to do a letter home each week to tell us of his progress at school each day and his goal was to stay out of quiet room.
But to be honest he was only partly at fault. This girl in our neighborhood really has a problem leaving our grandson alone. She taunts him till he explodes which usually gets him into the quiet room. We never seem to hear of her getting into trouble for taunting him but this year its about to change. Last year Mr Gab had to go to the bus stop every afternoon to get him so she would leave him alone. But this happened this morning sooooooo what do I do? I guess I'm going to have to drive him to the bus stop which I shouldn't have to do. But let me tell you this taunting she has been doing is along the lines of harassment and if she isn't getting punished like my grandson I guess I will need to go talk to the parents and maybe even the police!!!!
Poor grandson is working hard on staying out of quiet room and this girl is making trouble for him.
Today his biggest fear was this would go on his record for this year and he wants to keep it clean because he wants to write a letter on why he wants to be a bus patrol next year. The teacher said no this one wouldn't go on record so he can still try if he stays out of trouble rest of year.
Now I know when he gets home he will be upset because he will think this will stop him from getting his bribe.....Oh yeah I forgot to tell you what that is. If he stays out of quiet room and if he turns in all his homework on time and if he's good at home he gets to pick any movie he wants. Mainly we choose this because he wants the Harry Potter movies. So this was our incentive or bribe!
But when he gets home and I talk to him about what happened I will let him know this will not have an effect on his monthly record. It will be clean just as it is in school. He will still get a chance to pick a movie at the end of Oct.
Tomorrow he gets to go and get his Sept movie.
I hope that next week is better for my boys!

Now this might just work!

I got this as an e-mail. But ya know it might just be what we should be doing!

NOW HERE?S A THOUGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child.
So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,0 00 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to lend to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces .
If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.
If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult US Citizen 18+!
As for AIG - liquidate it.
Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can work. But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC .
And remember, The Family plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because$25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.I say we apply the same logic to the $700,000,000,000 bail out of all the banks !!!

Now we know

The baby is due May 27th! She is 5 weeks along today!
There are many mixed emotions. Son says he didn't sleep with her. Yet she claims its his. And I think she is right. WHY you ask?
Because son text ed me just this morning and tells me everything was already bad (between them) and now this. SO I tell him you went to health class.
He says not funny mom.
and I say well you already knew how u felt about her and yet you went ahead and took chances.
His responds?(now this is what makes me know its his baby) Thanks for the cheer up!

Ok sorry hun. As much as I'm not happy about it either I have excepted that I will have another grandchild.
Oh Oh you say... "Gab's not happy"? Why?
I will tell you why.
As much as I love babies I think that because they were already having difficulties with raising the 3 boys they have(his two her one) and that they are always complaining how much stuff cost to buy for the boys. And this ever changing world in which we live now and all the crap happening on Wall Street plus the economy being bad I just don't think another kid right now is the way to go. They have 3 boys that is a good sized family. Plus the fact that youngest son is always putting his sister down for having four boys. (which we all know grandma cares for during the day while mom works)Thing is she is a single mom. He has his girlfriend to help raise the boys. Our daughter only has us to help her.

So with all that in mind no I don't think they should have taken a chance. And yes to some point I think they were careless and thoughtless. and again he went to Health class he knows what he's suppose to do to not get this way if he didn't want the problems he's facing today. (cover it up with that latex thing)

But again like I say a new baby is on the way and grandma and grandpa are happy about it!
I just hope they all get with the program and be happy. Things always happen for a reason.

OMG OMG OMG SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Well yesterday my youngest son started out this conversation with me.
"I don't know if I should tell you this or not, you'll get mad"

"Too late hun, you say something like that you might as well tell me"

"Well S said she is pregnant" "But I don't know how she can be cause we haven't done anything"

"Well if she is you better get a DNA test"

"Well she wont tell me how she thinks she is and I can't ask her right now she's at work"

And bla bla bla.

Then this morning I get a text message from youngest son:

"It's true"

So most of today we text ed back and forth about how he hasn't been very responsible and he already has two of his own kids plus her other kid that calls him daddy and how hard and expensive it is taking care of them. And I ask what the heck does he think a new baby will do to his expenses? (He pays her child support and barely gets by with whats left afterwards).
He was so afraid of what his dad was gonna say that he kept telling me "Dad's gonna kill me"
But Mr Gab had two optimistic things for that.......1 being its another grandchild for him to love and spoil,(after all they are all pretty much grandpa's kids) and 2 maybe we will get another granddaughter!!!!

Either way as soon as we know when the due date is I will tell all.....LOL.
I guess congrats are in order!

Happy Hump day and Happy Birthday

Well we are at the middle of the week again...Happy Hump day.
And it's my sister's birthday. In true gab form

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR D
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOOOOOO YOOOOOOUUUUUUU!
and many more.

Yep today is my handicapped sister D's Birthday. This is the one they told my mom and dad she wouldn't live past age 5. The jokes on them she is 49 today!
Back in the day they used to call all children (and/or adults) "Special".
regardless if she is handicapped or not she is still "special". But back then you didn't say that word unless you were talking about her. It used to drive me nuts. I would ask my parents if I was "special"? They would tell me no not in the same way as D. Well that right there was enough to make any child any age cry. But they explained to me that with all her problems they called her "special". That was before all the politically correct terms such as Handicapped,...retarded,...Mentally challenged.
So if I seen another person in a wheelchair or one who had Down's syndrome they were "special"
all other kids were just that....kids. And back then they didn't usually keep the "special" kids at home, they sent them to live in hospitals that could "handle" "special" people. But my parents thought that if God had given them a "special" child then it was up to them to care for her no matter what the hardships were. And there were hardships. When D was little she had problems when eating so we never could go to a restaurant. And when she was little she couldn't be left alone for fear of her choking to death. And yes she did choke a lot and mainly on......nothing.
And many places we did go to were not set up to handle a wheelchair. Going to the state fair was the hardest of all but mom and dad went and never complained much about the difficulties they faced each year. One of them being no place to go smoothly off a curb. Another was all the electrical cords running across the ground that they had to push and pull her over. Now of course they have little dips in the curbs for chairs, strollers and whatnot's to go down. And the cords are now covered so that when you go over them its like a speed bump. I will tell you now that my parents fought the fight for her to go to a place to learn(wasn't school although that's what D called it) And they did join the battle for the curbs and cords. They also started the war for those little buttons to open the doors. But it was for our state only they didn't realise they could have done more had they gotten all the states to fight at the same time.
So Handicapped or not my sister D is VERY SPECIAL to me and my sister C.
Love you D happy birthday. Love ya C!

Im up

WARNING WARNING:
if you have just eaten, plan on eating or are eating at this time please read this later! Otherwise skip ahead to rest of my story.

So I'm up. My head is clear but my nose is still running and all the gunk going into to my throat. And I'm trying to clear my throat constantly because I can't swallow it down so I gotta try to bring it up so there I am going gack gack gack. (well ok it sounds worse than that but how do you describe something so disgusting?) And sooner or later I finally bring it up. I have gone through 3 boxes of Puffs (with lotion)! I really am glad that I didn't develop a cough with this. The watery eyes, runny nose and scratchy throat along with aching body was enough!!

So Ok now we've dealt with that lets get on my original blog.

I was sitting in my chair Saturday morning, watching TV and reading my book. Oldest grandson's coach had picked him up for practice, Mr Gab was asleep as was grandson #2.
I noticed a car pull up at the end of our driveway and stop. My first thought was grandson was home from practice.
Then I noticed the car was black (coach's car is silver(grey)) I looked to see what he was doing when I noticed he had a camera and was taking a picture of the back of our daughters van! So I got up went to the door and went out. Where he promptly started to drive away. We live on the corner and he was turning onto the side street when he stopped and took another picture. Now I started out towards him and he took off like a bat outta heck!
I went and told Mr Gab and he said did you get his license plate? I said no he took off before I could.
NOW here's my theory of what this guy was taking pictures for.
Theory #1: We are behind on house payments and they want to see what they can take to make up payments. Well the jokes on them cause that's our daughters car and it doesn't run!
Theory #2: Her van has been sitting there for 3 months and hasn't moved an inch. Well not quit true cause it was down the driveway more, grandson and I pushed it forwards more so it was higher in drive. I suppose someone has complained cause if you look under the front end you can see the battery sitting out plus some odd tools that Mr Gab left sitting after he looked at it the last time.
The thing that bothers me either way is what ever happened to a persons privacy? I mean really now why in the heck do they have to come take a picture? If it's theory #2 and someone has complained to the city then why don't the city come look and talk to us about it? Why send someone to take pictures? And if its some one who thinks they are gonna get money from us by using the van as colloratial, well then they just wasted a lot of time because like I said its not our van! Poor daughter has this nice van that she is making payments on monthly but she cant drive it cause she doesn't have the money to have it fixed. last con senses was the motor is froze!
And worst part of all...she is having trouble with her station wagon so she borrowed a friends car to deliver pizza's Saturday night and she had her first accident ever.
Here is what her friends car now looks like! Poor daughter is really is having a very bad run of luck since she moved out on her own!
Hope you all are having a good week.

Awww I feel like crap!

Ive got a cold....but not the coughing kind of cold, but the sneezing, runny nose, scratchy throat, and watery eyes kinda cold. I imagine it wont be long before I add the coughing!
Oh and how I wish I could just crawl into bed and sleep till it goes away. But no alas Ive got kids to look after! Anyways for now.......I'm staying in bed when no kids are here so I will check back with you when I'm better!

Elections

Elections drive me nuts. All the mud slinging all the he's better than he is bla bla bla. Each person has his good qualities as well as some questionable ones. But I really get annoyed when one says well this guy did this in his commercial and within a half an hour we have that guy saying almost the same about the other guy. SO what does that mean? That they are actually both guilty of the same thing? And the thing that bugs me the most?...........My name is.............and I approve this ad. OMG of course your going to approve it. Weather its good for you or not(mainly good cause why would they put something bad about themselves on air?)I know there is another reason they say it they say it just so they let you know that they know whats being said about them. And like I said why would they put something bad about them selves on air? But don't ask me why but it just bugs me. I guess its all this stuff that they all do just to try to get votes. Now I'll admit I wasn't going to register to even vote this year but after reading some of the reports and getting some emails from friends I think I should go and actually vote this year. After all its our right and we women fought to vote so why should I not? I'm really glad they only happen every 4 years. But let me tell you something no matter who we vote for some one some where will say why in the heck did I vote for him? Because usually some time down the line the person elected will do something that will have the whole country talking about. and its not usually good!

Questions but no answers

So as I sat yesterday watching the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon, I thought to my self wow he's been doing these telethons for a long time and he's getting old. I wonder who if any one will take over the telethon for him when he passes. Or will Jerry's kids be forgotten. With all the money he has raised for Jerry's kids its amazes me there isn't a cure found already. After all, these telethons have been going since I was a kid.
I love watching Jerry doing his thing for his kids and when I can donate, I do. But it scares me that the fact these have been going on for years and they still haven't found the answer and he wont be here forever. What will happen to those kids who mean so much to Jerry?
Then I put that aside and went to the fair.
Now that was a fun thing ........(not!!!) Weather was 90+ yesterday there was some cool breeze every now and again.
We were invite as guest of our youngest sons girlfriend who said she was paying for everything.
Well that was partly true. Another friend of our sons also went and he paid for some stuff.
And then at one point we had to pay (with money we didn't have!)
But all in all it was a fun day. We took 3 of our daughters boys with us. youngest son had his 3 boys. So it was a good day. I took precautions so not to get burned but I still came home with some very red spots(that I forgot to cover with lotion).
I think Mr Gab and I had sunstroke or at least heat stroke! We came home collapsed and basically went to sleep. By 8 pm I got up told the 2 boys who live with us to go to bed then told Mr Gab let' s go to bed. By 8 20pm we were out! All of us. which was good because the boys had school today. I also Had to have a friend drive us over to school for J's orientation of Kindergarten, which he starts tomorrow. And Little Lj comes home from daddys tonight so grandma will have him tomorrow. I wont quite be alone once the 3 boys go to school. But thats ok. I can deal with it!

Whose Butt is that?

My grandson happened to look out the window and see the white squirrel's butt sticking out of our tree. So I told him grab the camera and take a picture. He took this and its a very good one! (click on it to see it better)The hole was started by our oldest son cutting it off but not sealing it. Next thing you know we have woodpeckers pecking away at it. Soon we had squirrels in it. I thought they might be using it for their nest but when Mr Gab checked it was still just an empty hole. But right above him high in the branches he saw their nest! I'm still trying to get a picture of the all black squirrel.

Friday Laugh

A man and a woman were asleep like two innocent babies.
Suddenly, at 3 o'clock in the morning, a loud noise came from outside.
The woman, sort of bewildered, jumped up from the bed and yelled at the man "Holy CRAP, That must be my husband!"
So the guy quickly jumped out of the bed, scared and naked he jumped out the window like a crazy man.
He smashed himself on the ground, ran through a thorn bush and then started to run as fast as he could to his car.
A few minutes later he returned and went up to the bedroom and screamed at the woman, "I AM your husband.!"
The woman yelled back, "Yeah, then why were you running?"
And that folks............is how the fight started.

My pain.

Wow what a big cat! lol

This is Pumpkin holding watch over me. When Puff was alive both cats would sit either under my chair and sleep or up on my bed, where they could keep an eye on me. Now pumpkin has to get right up there on my desk and yes in my way sometimes. As you can see he's laying in front of my scanner and my screen. In fact it looks as if he may even be laying on top of the key board. That is nothing new. Many times I'll be doing some thing and all of a sudden zzzzzzzzzzssssssssssssssssaaaaaaaaaaa go across my screen. I then have to move his butt or the keyboard. It is more easier to move the keyboard than him!!!!! I find myself reaching over every so often to give him a pet.

Today is my sister's birthday. I still wanna call her my baby sis but at 40 something it just doesnt seem right! lol
So in true Gab form:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Public Service Announcement

I know that if I heard something that I thought might help others out I would be sure to blog about it. But what if you heard something that you just were not sure about? What if it sounded like a crock? Do you still blog about it?

Well to answer my own questions,Yes I will blog about it and you tell me if its a crock or just give me your opinion.

Yesterday Mr Gab and I were watching some TV. Not even sure what channel we were on but what we heard shocked us.

It was a Doctor telling us some of the things that could cause Alzheimer's.

One of the things was if you went to the beauty parlor and got your hair done.(they said every week or bi-weekly)
another was if you got your nails done on a regular bases(recommended by salons are every two weeks)
Well now that caught my attention as I get my nails done (not as often as they say I sometimes go 4 weeks before I get them done again due to money).

So now what do I think? Well I do believe that going into nail salons the smell is very strong especially if they are quite a few people getting their nails done all at the same time. If there is only one or two people its not so bad. But the smell is awful. Could the chemicals they use play a part in you getting Alzheimer's?

This Doctor went on to talk about other hazards but at the same time he was "hocking" his book. So is it possible that going to get your hair or nails done that you could be endangering yourself to an early on set of Alzheimer's? Well I'm just not sure. But why take a chance? And as for telling all my blogger friends well lets just say I'm doing my part in a public service announcement just in case there is any truth in it.

Come on your kidding me right?

So you all know that Ive been separating all my money lately, and Ive got one jar that Ive labeled "funny money" money that's from other countries.

Well.....the other day I had to take some money to the bank. So I counted enough change to make $100. with the bills I had so that I could just make it even.

I went to the bank and told them I needed to deposit some money into my account and that I was sorry but I needed to use some change to make it an even $100.

Lady said to me no problem. She went into the other room and dropped the change into a machine to count it out and came back, and then handed me my receipt, and 2 nickles.

I said I need those nickles added in to make $100. and she says I'm sorry we don't take Canadian money.

You what I asked her?

We don't take Canadian money.

If you a bank don't take Canadian money who does? I asked

Oh she says just use it when you buy groceries, they have to take it.

Well my grandson just happened to have a dime so I had her add that to my account to make that even $100.

Then I went into the store and bought some little items that I knew with what cash I had plus the 2 Canadian nickles I would be able to pay for it.

BUT...........................I get to the counter and hand the lady the money and she says "I'm sorry we don't take Canadian money.
I laughed my butt off and said but the bank told me you did.

She tells me sorry no do I have any other nickles?
I tell her no and I'm sorry but I don't want the groceries I had. and I walked out.

My grandson asked me "grandma what are you suppose to do if the store wont take them either?"
Good question I tell him.

I stopped at McDonald's to get a drink for the two of us cause we were hot and the total came to $3.10. Hot dog I thought I'm getting rid of those Canadian nickles.

But you guessed it. I handed her the money and she tells me I'm sorry we don't take Canadian money.
I told her she was going to have to keep the drinks as I didn't have enough money.

So I added them to my "funny money" jar. Maybe some day I'll get to Canada and be able to use all my "Canadian funny money!"

Hope your week is going well!
